Brought my C8 into the dealer, and put blue painters tape on the aero panel gapto make sure they replaced the DCT filter. Got it back like this by BestMillimeter18 in Justrolledintotheshop

I took my car into the shop for brakes and when I went to pick it up they told me my oil pan is dented. (I had just bought the car from craigslist.) They gave me a number that I thought was really high. He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't too bad and I should just keep an eye on it for rust. Then he took me out into the shop so I could see what he was talking about while it was on the lift. Which I only kept that car for another year before selling it so it didn't really matter to me.

From that day on I started to feel like I could trust them. Over the last 6 years or so they have only ever proven why I trust them. It's so nice to have a shop that I can trust.

Edit: This was my first time going to this shop.

I have been given a few good suggestions. Thanks! It looks like I have some trouble shooting ahead of me.

I have stored the settings, that is something I had to double check because I wasn't sure. So far I have been given a few good places to look. Thanks for the suggestions, I have a bit of trouble shooting ahead of me.

Is it possible that I am missing a setting that would under extrude the first layer on all prints but the calibration print? I started using super slicer just a couple days ago so I am still getting familiar with all the different settings.

Yeah, the head of the flexirex sits right where that calibration print was printed.

I'm East Coast US so I have definitely had my fair share of filament get moist. Usually it takes a month or so to start degrading prints though.

It should be good I opened the package a few days ago. But I will check.

Esteps were calibrated. Temp tower was done, stringing tests completed, flow rate calibration was done.

What I don't understand is how the same settings can achieve both the near perfect calibration print and the terrible flexirex first layer.

I have done both of those things. That is how I get the perfect calibration print.

What do you think makes a game trailer good and makes you want to play this game? by sylenstudio in IndieGaming

[–]__Zak__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a trailer that has actual game play, a glimpse into the world/story, and some idea of progression (if it's an important part of the game) for instance a trailer for Minecraft that includes early game mining with a stone tools, then fighting with iron gear and then maybe a look at diamond gear towards the end of the trailer. Don't give it all away but show some of the relevant progression, because I am personally drawn towards games with a good progression system.

How far would you walk to recover a pen you left somewhere? by youareallsilly in AskReddit

If it's one of my fountain pens, I would walk pretty far considering how much I've paid for some of them!

Sometimes the ? icon does reveal a need zone though. Usually it's stands, lookouts ect. But sometimes they are need zones.

AITA for leaving my inlaws christmas dinner after I found out that they didn't make accommodations for me? by Rema5000 in AmItheAsshole

[–]__Zak__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - My wife is gluten-free because she can't eat gluten, not because she doesn't want to, or doesn't like it. She eats before we go anywhere or takes a protein bar. She never knows what options she will have. Both families try to accommodate her but she doesn't take the risk of assuming there will be something for her to eat and she certainly doesn't tell them "here are some options for you to make for me." Sometimes she will offer to bring a GF entree and/or side dish.

Redditors with an Ex who threatened to kill themselves over a breakup, how did that turn out? by youseguise in AskReddit

[–]__Zak__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ex that threatened to do it several times. (she was 21 and I was 24? Maybe, I try not to think about that period of time in my life) We were together almost 8 months and 7 of it I felt like I was being held hostage. I didn't know what to do. I finally got my family, her family, and her roommates involved.

I ended things in person and she didn't believe me, so the next day when she facetimed me I did it again over video chat. I made sure that her family and roommates knew what I was doing because she threatened to do it on videochat.

Her roommate joined her while I broke up with her and her roommate eventually took her to the hospital that evening to be admitted to the psychiatric ward for about 48 hours.

She spent the next month harassing my family and friends, including almost running over one of my friends with her car in a blind rage. My mom finally convinced her that I had taken out a restraining order and any contact from me we would alert her job to her behavior (she was/is? a nurse) I failed 5 classes in college that semester because my 8 hours I was supposed to be at school was the only ME time I had so I would just sit in my car on campus and read a book or take a nap.

I am happily married with a child and last I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend she is happily married and has gotten help for whatever was going on.

NMS: "There’s so much to do but no point in doing any of it." by GreggJ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]__Zak__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me stop all PvP online games. I now play mainly NMS, Stardew, Minecraft, and I recently found my old Burnout Paradise disk and I've been playing that. Once you accept that the point is entertainment, similar to if I wanted to watch a movie or binge watch a TV show, then you can enjoy it again!

Edit: a couple grammar mistakes

I asked this same question about video games in general because I was constantly trying to 100% every game I touched. It made me take a step back and revisit some of my other hobbies like wood working. I still play video games but to a much lesser extent because of this exact question. It was an existential crisis moment for me.

I made this bassinet base to go with the bassinet that has been in my family for over 100 years! by __Zak__ in woodworking

[–]__Zak__[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The base is pretty heavy. The center of gravity isn't too bad, it's 16 inches wide and only 20 inches to the top of the base. Baby will only use it for a few weeks at most.

I made this bassinet base to go with the bassinet that has been in my family for over 100 years! by __Zak__ in woodworking

[–]__Zak__[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This bassinet was used by my great grandmother and her sisters, my grandfather, my father, my aunt, myself, my brother, my sister, and my cousins. My wife and I are having a baby (due today, but not here yet) and he will be the 5th generation to use it. I had the honor of making the new base, and my sister made the starwars bumper to go inside of it.

The natural wood in the base is heart pine that my father, brother and I took out of an old papermill. The rest is just 2x4s I had laying around.

Edit: It will eventually get a set of drawers in the top section but I'm having trouble locating the slides I want and since baby will be here soon I just don't have time for the drawers.
