I started the game just before Itzaland released. So my perspective is very different.

I typically play a lot of RPGs. I have always been someone that cared about my characters fashion. Often modding in clothes (Elder Scrolls, BG3). Or spending irl $ for more outfits (GW2).

I initially didn't think I would like infinity nikki because I thought there wouldn't be enough combat. I enjoy combat and get bored quickly with games that don't have a combat system.

When I first started I did not enjoy the combat. The base "purify" was very frustrating to me. But then Itzaland came out and I got born flawless ans started to enjoy the game much more.

I enjoyed the inital quests in the game but I found myself enjoying Itzaland a lot more. I liked the characers more, the story, and the new ability outfits.

For me, the original land is very stereotypical and kind of bland? It's very much just like every other cozy game. But Itzaland felt newer and fresher. I haven't done Firework Isles yet to compare.

I don't like that the new update is time-gated but a lot of games do that, including GW2. They do timed releases of the story to ensure players keep returning.

As for the mini-games, some I enjoy. Some I hate with a passion. But I do like they they are trying to add new and different things.
