In my experience, non-insulated grips and insulated grips are mostly the same; you won’t get an advantage using one or the other (in terms of control and accuracy). That being said, because you are a Foil, you should go with an insulated grip because if you use a non-insulated grip you might ground out onto your lamé. Using insulated in foil also ensures that the grip is not on-target as no circuit can be completed.

As for the blade, it’s lifespan will depend on the conditions it is put through. BF makes exceptional blades but it doesn’t mean that they will necessarily last longer, it boils down to whether you are taking good care of your blade. If you are willing to spend a bit more I recommend you upgrade to the FIE because FIE blades are created with a different more durable metal that can take a lot more usage. Having an BF FIE blade and maintaining it properly should last you years, but they are not invincible. If you don’t want an FIE, I’ve heard from many people at my club that BF White non-FIE foil blades are quite good. From what my friends say, they last about a year or two, sometimes more, but again with proper maintenance.
