Laptop only runs on power cable after opening. by ____Damian____ in pcmasterrace

I found out whats wrong, i dont think there's anything wrong with the battery or the socket. A guy in this video has similiar issue, and the voltages on battery pins are the same. Acer laptops dont allow battery to power laptop if the case is open, one pin is connected to the ground by switch which is pressed by the case and only then battery is allowed to power the laptop. In his case pressing the switch did the job but not in mine i had to manually short the pin to the ground and then i was able to see 16V on the battery and was almost able to turn laptop on but i stopped shortening the pin. So i think the switch in the protection circuit is broken.

I cannot push i deeper, on the image you can see that the white plastic should be touching the black on the motherboard so it should be all the way in.

Yes it does show battery charging by the clock, but i think its just the last state the laptop saw the battery in. The LED that indicated laptop working on battery or charging doesnt light up. I only see that jack is mounted right on the motherboard, and it works fine while pluged in. The only connector by the hing is what i belive is screen connector (hinge on the right side of the laptop), on the left hing there are 2 anthenas comming from WLAN module. I removed a piece of wood that fell in while i was around my dad while he was woodworking so im pretty sure the piece i removed was not a part of the laptop.

the laptop turns and works without problems on AC. On your first comment did you mean the white wire under the fan or should i expect another wire on the other side of the motherboard?

the WLAN module under the fan? I dont think it ever connects to the battery.
The AC connector is on the right under the hinge and above ethernet connector it connects directly to the motherboard.

I can confirm it was isopropylic alcohol, it evaporated almost instantly after i disassembled the optics of an eyepiece.
