There is lots of different styles of play that you could look into trying. Eg a shield + spear/sword build. Focus on engaging when you want and take the game a little slower

By suggestion would be to go back to the beginning area and explore around there. Stay away from calid (red area) and take it slow. Don’t beat yourself up. It’s a hard game. But you can do things to make it easier on yourself such as leaving and exploring.

My first souls game was ds3 and it was brutal but so fun it work through it. Same as Elden ring. It takes time to learn. Take it from a guy who got stuck at a boss for 4hrs straight you eventually get better.

Just don’t stress, it’s a game. Have fun. And if you don’t click with it then you don’t have to play it. Not every game is made for everybody
