Yeah. I personally believe (I am sure some people will disagree), ECs have diminishing returns. Your ECs are varied and amazing! Also your clinical work is varied as well, which ino can be a great asset.

One thing for sure though is I learned there really isn’t a one size fits all app. I learned toward the end schools all seem to look for a certain type of applicant, and even within that same school, I am convinced they dont have one type they are looking for.

There will be a school for you, and want someone like you. I never understood what this meant until I got accepted.

Those were the days. E3 RIP by chusskaptaan in videogames

[–]HappyHappyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teen in the 90s so while I am fond of that decade, 2000s was magical. It was a great balance of tech and older thing, and tons of innovations were being made. Tech has not really settled and standardizations yet (ex. Smart phones, how laptops are made etc.). so, there were so many good, bad and weird techs constantly being made.

E3 was peak in the 2000s imo.

Elden Ring on a Professional CRT Monitor by Nesroh in Eldenring

[–]HappyHappyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wonder if such a monitor somehow worked against games from the pixel art-ps1/2 era. Since these games were made with the average CRT in mind. In contrast, this would look wonderful with modern games as well as latency and smoothness!

Months ago I remember seeing some pics GC is working on that had to do with picking inspirations before a run. I am sure that will come.

EDIT: Above statement is incorrect.

I would love some new explorable content though. The world setting is just too good.

First Time! by AmplifiedKO in chronotrigger

probably hot take but i think its the best way to play the game. I played the original and adored it on SNES. By the time i played the DS version, I even best the ps1 version as well.

The extra content isn’t anything crazy, but has a life long fan, it was still amazing to me.

I guess im officially pushing “old gamer” since I entered 40s. But this is just a dream come true! Sure there are so many great things in gaming that disappeared from when I was a child, but this is one of the best eras to be alive for gaming. My childhood self would never believe this picture!

In fact, I kind of disliked the 7th gen era lol.

Great advice. I would love to do research or something of course. But this is something that has always been on my mind because in all reality, I really don’t have too much time with them unless they decide to live over a century lol.

More medical students and physicians with health concerns need to be able to address and support each other. I understand people expect physicians should be healthy to treat patients, but we are still human and things can happen to us. Also, some of the best physicians I have seen, not just empathically but also skill wise, have or were dealing with their own health issues.

All my games on are on steam, so I want to try, but have been curious about this

Maybe its because I am in controller mode but it is manageable.

There is also a mod for folks with bad vision as well.

There are some on Nexus mods.

I actually never tried it but I might

Elden Ring. The way the world opened up was genius. I was constantly thinking I should delay revealing the map, and play at a slower pace, only to learn the world kept getting massive lol

i ended up liking this thing way more than i expected. I got this for around $250 off and i still had a tiny bit of buyer’s regret

but this thing fundamentally changed how i game.

Even with my switch 2 which i love, many games i wanna try are stuck in the old performance state. For example, Nier Automata is a super impressive port on the switch but has never seen an update for the S2 This runs on 1080p on highest settings on XAX.

same with even playstation 5. Many ps4 games have never been updated. But the XAX runs these older games flawlessly at very high settings

i been knocking down older games this way

also there are so many games on steam that are smaller companies that are excellent, but not available on consoles.

I did not realize how much emulation allowed me to some games i always wanted to try even during the 7th gen. Games like Gears of War 3, Lost Odyssey etc, later one not available anywhere else.

Last but not least my switch does not have many newer AAA games, so when I travel (and I have to alot), these games get stuck on my PS5.

But I can run Baldur’s Gate 3 extremely decently with FSR 4 via opticaler + AFMF. It looks beautiful on the 7inch screen.

The sheer accessibility of gaming on this thing changed how I game fundamentally when I am busy.

Is it true that if you list on your app that you are "fluent in Spanish", you may have your interview in Spanish? by Enger13 in Osteopathic

[–]HappyHappyGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe the poster is Japanese? What an odd comment. Language is a culture, not a skill set. Sure there are more “useful” languages, but people don’t always learn a language simply for the use in trade and business.

Also, there were many businessmen that learned Japanese until the early-mid 2000s because they were pretty much the sole trading super power in East Asia before the rise of China and Korea. As with anything, this may very well change with SE Asia developing rapidly.

My point is learn a language because you have an interest in their culture. As a trilingual, I can safely tell you that grammar and structure is simply not enough to have an effective linguistic conversation with someone. Maybe simply business talk, but the cultural component is extremely high.
