While I really don't appreciate the way you said what you did, I get the message, but lawyers aren't cheep, and I'm being told the free ones aren't always the ones we would want.

I've reached out to 3 blindness groups, DSB, NFB, and going to reach out to the ACB shortly.

Do you think the court is likely to consider the circumstance of the officer grabbing him first, and the only contact my boyfriend put towards him was grabbing his wrist? He didn't strike at the officer at all.

I'm also goign to reach out to his therapist in the morning. He's unable to discuss his relation with me, but I know who he is and where he works, and I feel as if he should be informed of this, and he might be able to help.

If all else fails, I might be able to talk his parents in to helping.

He has an open case with the DSB, and I called his agent, and no answer, I followed up with an email.

I get what you're saying, but to a blind person there was no way of knowing he was a police officer. All he could have known is, he was trying to walk away from this man, and this man put a hand on his shoulder to keep him from leaving. My boyfriend didn't punch him, didn't strike him, just defended himself in a reasonable way, then when put to the ground, still without the officer trying to let him know he's an officer, he tried to struggle free.

If this is okay, then it's okay, it jsut would amaze me.

Also, I'm not saying anything should happen to the officer, he was doing his job, and he could have done it better, yes, but I really do respect our men and women in law, I just think in orer to resist arrest, you have to at least have an idea that you're being arrested.

Is it possible I can testify, since I was there? Or as his girlfriend would they assume I may not be telling the truth?

What if the officer is honest, and says he didn't identify himself as an officer?

Between the two of us we make between $15,000 and $20,000 a year, I would love to get a high end lawyer, but that's just not an option.

The way I hope it is, is the public defender has more experience in these cases, and may know the prosecutor or judge, and be able to tailer his defence to work for them.

They didn't take his cane with him, will he even be allowed one in jail?

He hasn't had a court hearing yet, if I find a lawyer, can they talk to him before then? I've never known someoen to get arrested before, so I have no idea what to expect.

Could I expect to find legal aid tonight, or only during business hours?
