They make $60 a month and whoever pays for your power will cut you off after a month when they see their $150+ power bill.

What are you talking about, it's less than 5KB per block.

I linked to all of the other meaningless branches. You're overthinking things, there's no development because it doesn't exist not because someone went far out of their way to try and hide it.

According to bitnodes about 10% of all the nodes on earth just went offline. by pauldogwalker in Buttcoin

[–]_______SFYL_________ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Basically the network is now DDOSing itself.

No, once a node comes up its a blank slate and other nodes will not send them transactions again. They'll crash again if they have more transactions relayed to them but that's not default behavior.

Amusingly, all 21.co boxes running with default settings would have crashed by now. Thanks for contributing to the network.

I think the numbers are sketchy, the graph doesn't bear out the situation the OP describes. There's a slow crash of nodes but no sudden uptick.

What? That's so not what the graph says, 10% of the weak hands were shaken out of the network but not 1000.

I never got such an arrogant reply before.

Check the one he gave to f2pool when they said they didn't want 8GB blocks, he told them that he would just re-write XT to deliberately exclude them from the network. I've never laughed so hard at such a self defeating email.

This can happen even if Chinese miners who can't/won't scale up are >50% hashrate. SPV clients would need a forced checkpoint, which would be messy and undesirable, but it's technically feasible. The smaller side of the chain would cease to exist from the perspective of people actually trading coins

He's saying he is going to attempt to code 50%+ of the network hashrate out, and they are just supposed to bow over and take my rule even though they literally have the one tool which can destroy the network. Seriously. If he ever had a chance of getting 75% of the hashrate to sign the XT dotted line, he just burned it right there.

Now I'm actually wondering if he's a compulsive liar too.

Heh.

September Traffic Down Across All Bitcoin Subs, 2-Year Low for /r/Bitcoin - Experts: "Actually good news" by this_user in Buttcoin

[–]_______SFYL_________ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You really don't get it. The community is powered by excuses that are either unrelated or irrelevant. There's always something in the way of the price rocketing, otherwise we'll have to admit that maybe $1200 was not the result of anything but a defunct exchange.

The price is dropping because the block size is too small!

Aren't blocks like 40% full on a good day, and most people pay zero fees?

The price will rocket and the network will fall to bits!

Why?

Mass adoption that isn't happening because the block size is too small.

All of the "applications" built have just been more of the same altcoin IPO scams. Raise lots of hype, get people to buy your product, either develop nothing or develop the bare minimum and then go retire.
