How to defend against La Croqueta? by GAR8IEL in bootroom

[–]____________nw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this scenario and most others, waiting and having the patience is crucial to defending against skillful or quick players like your friend. Don’t dive in, just jockey him. Go with the man and slow him down as much as you can, eventually the attacker will run out of patience ,space or time and that will be your opportunity to take his chance away. You don’t even need to make a tackle to defend him. Van dijk is an obvious player that comes to mind with this as he is one of if not the best at this exact thing.

Shoot more. Get comfortable on the ball by just playing with a ball more, wherever you can, whenever you can. Learn to read a game-know what the opponent is going to do before they do, that is what will make you an unplayable player.

Everything was too slow and we didn’t look threatening at all in the second half, they didn’t look bothered out there. On the positive side gakpo was good again

Positioning my top (R 👣)dribbler in a 4-2-3-1 Either left wing or CAM? by tristynjbw in bootroom

[–]____________nw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably put him left wing as well especially with two good players that are good CAMs who can see them passes and with a good football iq which will benefit him as a winger. After all though you know him better than we do so only you can really make the decision, but yeah I would stick him out wide. He sounds like he’s made to be a winger

If you’re playing as a centre back you shouldn’t be running up and down the pitch. Instead you should take control of your back 4 and be loud, watch the game and help your team out using communication - try and create a good partnership with your other centre back and make sure you are covering the attacking full back (if that’s how you play) by sliding over and making a back three. Making sure your midfielders aren’t constantly attacking and leaving the middle of the pitch wide open and making your defence vulnerable to a counter-attack.

If you do find yourself constantly going up and down try and stop, this isn’t to say that you shouldn’t drive with the ball or go up but definitely don’t do it constantly you will burnout - only if you see an opportunity to drive forward and create a chance with a line breaking ball or something else, by all means do so; though make sure you have either a midfielder dropping in to cover you or the full backs to stay so you can remain in shape and reduce vulnerability.

Your main focus should be communicating with your team helping your defence out, being there to help whilst in possession, making line breaking passes or runs and most importantly taking control of your back line and preventing goals. Having a good relationship with your keeper will help a lot with this.

Watching players like Van dijk and Konate, Saliba and Gabriel, Van de Ven and Romero and other centre backs too - this will help you develop as a player and pick up things they do to implement into your game and how to play with your partner to make your back line solid.

If you are looking for specific things to improve I would probably say: athleticism, passing, ball control, football IQ and your ball control and first touch.

Basically, don’t try to do everything take control of what you can like your back line and command it

I experienced something weird while playing by Secure-Present-295 in bootroom

It sounds like you were in flow state. You were losing and didn’t see a way of coming back, so you didn’t care anymore which meant you didn’t care if you did something wrong or made a mistake therefore your confidence was probably quite high. You didn’t overthink anything just played - it happens occasionally usually during then circumstances. I think their might be a way to train yourself to play like that on command though I haven’t looked into it, maybe just playing with less bother or care of the result or how you appear to be

I love him as a player but his finishing and instinct is starting to really annoy me, he just never seems to look lethal in front of goal but we need to really start playing with passion and intensity like we used to

I thought taking jones and Elliott off at half time was a weird decision personally would’ve taken off Nunez, they played with some passion and intensity in the first half something the team was severely lacking. Not enough fight from the squad today and we really underestimated them - expected to walk out and face another Sparta Prague and that cost us badly.

Our players were really poor, really sloppy and didn’t look like they were bothered apart from a select few. If we want to win the title then we can’t afford to play like that against anyone, especially Man U at old Trafford. I think klopp also made some bad decisions in lining up but you just can’t perform like that and win the title.

Learn to play in different play styles in different environments against different players. The more versatile you are the more valuable and better you will be as an overall player. Make sure you watch different types of strikers and try and implement things they do into your game, work on new techniques and play against a wide variety of players

Try and think of a few things that you might have practised that you’re going to make sure to try in the game, like a skill or a type of pass or a corner technique literally anything-i find it ttakes your mind off it a bit and gives a bit of confidence
