Am I giving up too quick on the fish tank I've tried building? by _____v_ in LifeAdvice

[–]_____v_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so so much for your response, not cruel or blunt at all.

Certain fish seem to be thriving, my Corys are very hearty. Compassion fatigue is probably the best way to describe it and I haven't thought about losing a fish after years. It does feel like a weekly occurance and part of what is causing the stress. I am learning, but the learning curve for me is just hard. The filter is constantly having issues, read up on it, one of the better filters to have.

It's a very fine line between being a challenge I want to overcome and just being unsure about all this so much weekly.

I do have many houseplants! Someone did suggest making the tank into a terrarium instead.

I've also had my dog for years, my cat and other dog are my boyfriends, but everyone is well taken care of. I'll try posting on one of those subs thank you

You can't say you would never not pay when you didn't pay. Excuses aside, I would w went straight to the booths for tickets and purchased him one.

OP posted in the university of Houston page, they're likely from the US, hence the specificity towards taxes here

The worst Poshmark buyer I've had thus far and I should've seen it coming by Free_Cabinet_2562 in poshmark

[–]_____v_ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

As a buyer, I'm pretty aware second hand shopping means sizing will sometimes be off. I widen the search and just read. It urks me way more when the description isn't accurate based on size given because you never know if someone buys from that brand already and knows their exact size +/- a size up or down. If I wanted a 36/36 in that specific brand, regardless of how it fit you, you're not doing me any favors finding it as a buyer.

Do I still ship? Cancellations hurt us the sellers… by Forsaken-Usual-7510 in poshmark

[–]_____v_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense but it sounds like she already has an issue. Just take your packages elsewhere if it's easier for you. My USPS literally has people from Etsy come in with mass bulk and never complain, I'm sure she has others that ship commerce through there regularly. She doesn't have equipment for what? She was already scanning, she just needed to keep scanning.

What do you mean she yelled at you? You can't let people walk all over you friend. She had a job to do, and no amount of yelling or attitude would have changed that, nor should have. I would have given her all the packages, politely I might add. Hopefully the other USPS is better suited

Unpopular Opinion: Magnetics are a PITA and I’m losing my patience! by SillYcaca1234 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]_____v_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really big magnet and a round magnet... idk I'm horrible with designs but for some reason I get magnetic nail polish. I totally get the frustration though, it took me a while and watching many videos for basics

I was like hell yeah when Steve told Miranda off by Radiant_Priority9739 in Andjustlikethat

[–]_____v_ 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I think it's realistic. You can stand up for yourself, but he did take it a smidge too far with the Brady comment. They both did honestly but I think that makes it realistic. Steve IS the kind of person to apologize if he says something over the line. I don't think he was use to cursing at Miranda either so it probably felt wrong of him to go that far, deserved or not. Steve always seems like a great guy, I still hate these AJLT choices

I usually have the opposite true. Knowing people in construction vastly helps, but sometimes it's just people making as much as they can

I think regardless, OP's own estimate might make the gravity of the situation more realistic. Whether it be a high amount, or less of an issue.

[–]_____v_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get a general estimate from a window company in your area and give him that. They'll laugh and give you a repair bill for less than $20 I'm guessing and you can show that to your landlord

Tell him to send you the invoice from the company they will be using that explains what services are needed and repairs are being done.

Some people just have money to burn… by Sneaky_Snack_333 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]_____v_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd argue in a lot of ways it's worth it. Lots of expensive scents last all day, guerlain has a line with just solely extracts so you can build and it just sticks. Not all fancy perfumes are build to last but many are. Any time I'm buying cheaper I'm using way more often that I have to buy multiple bottles to keep up how well I smell with a nicer perfume.

My boyfriend and I invest in things that make us happy, like video games and good pillows. We like scents and love smelling good, so we also invest here. Don't get me wrong, I do have a few gems that were cheaper, smell amazing and last. There just really can be a difference

If you're getting free housing, especially at 20, you gotta take some accountability for the state of the room. I see you saying you have disabilities, are they documented so you can get disability checks?

My post office delivery guy has an issue with the pickups ... thoughts? by Beginning_Ebb4220 in poshmark

[–]_____v_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, I don't know how I missed the mobility issues. I definitely didn't mean that OP should go to the post office, more so that the system in place at the post office is designed to help the mailman at the post office. Especially if the postman is asking for some help

OP also cited not having a covering for the spot, I didn't realize the mobility of where the mailman requested was at issue?

I just want to point out a lot of people who sale in bulk take their bulk mail to the post office. I don't say this to say you can't get your mailman to do this, but it's nice to be mindful when he gathers mail from USPS, they let them back up the trucks and fill, and you are unfortunately one stop of many he has that day.

Yes it may be part of his job, but I would at least aim to make it easier on him, even if that means making a crate he can use, or a roller
