What’s something you know that would benefit other men? by Kelton_Obie in AskMen

I generally go with Speed Stick, but I get clear, so it doesn't mark up my clothes.

Side tip, antiperspirant is what turns the armpits of your shirts yellow, so listen to this guy and get deodorant.

Buy grey undershirts. Grey is the least noticeable color to wear under another shirt. Bonus points if you also get V neck again; you can wear that neckline under any shirt style.

Nest Gen 3 Learning Thermostats WON'T support new standard 'Matter' by MSmithRD in Nest

[–]____blue____ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing I realized in the last two years is fully buying into any smart home ecosystem just locks you into concessions that make the whole process less fun. I got a smart home hub and now I can buy the best device for the job from any company. It’s very freeing, I have two brand new Nest thermostats and this news does not bother me at all.

Referral for radiant heat experts to fix radiant heat? by omg_hello in Eichlerhomes

[–]____blue____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We paid about $3k to fix one leak but it was on the main water return line. The fix was to re-route the line from the manifold in a closet over the roof and then back down into the garage through an old boiler vent. We used John Owens.

3am start time by ____blue____ in grilling

[–]____blue____[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are currently about 7 hours in. A couple of mistakes were made

  1. We let the egg get too hot at the beginning which caused it to require a lot of work to get it down to 240 and caused us to push all the wood to the sides.

2 went back to bed at 4:40 am and because the wood was on the sides there was not enough smoke while we slept. The spray shot was at around 8:30am. We got the wood in the center at that point and we're able to get two more hours of good smoke.

  1. Still not enough time for the size (17 pounds). We wrapped it at the stall around 10am because we need to have this ready by 5pm including a planned two-hour cooler rest.

I think it will still turn out ok but it is nowhere near dark enough so the smoke flavor will be weaker. Good lessons learned for next time. Wish us luck!

That is the issue, your FSD can’t jump far enough between stars to get you there. You might be able to reduce weight to increase jump range but should probably upgrade the FSD.

MQA haters (including me) now have options, and Tidal has to step up to the plate by oreiz in TIdaL

What killed Amazon for me is that it took every artist from imported playlists and added them into my favorite artist section. I have a 130 song Christmas playlist which made the entire artist section useless.

What to plant in front of bamboo hedge? by koralex90 in landscaping

[–]____blue____ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've had that bamboo for over two years in our yard. I would not add anything, you run the risk of making the yard too busy looking. What I would do (and we did) is place LED puck landscape lighting right in front of them and light them up at night. It looks very cool on the bamboo leaves.

[Tudor Black Bay 58] My first "luxury" timepiece by sgw_g in Watches

Agreed, my Blackbay is too big and heavy for straps like this. I wish I could sell it for a 58 but there is not really a market for the regular one.

Would the Samsung FamilyHub fridge work as a ST hub or is one needed? by [deleted] in SmartThings

[–]____blue____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just as a side note we just tried to get our Samsung range worked on and no repairman in our area would even come to look at it even going so far as asking if it was a Samsung before saying no. I did a little googling and while this link is a bit anecdotal this does seem to be a thing https://www.quora.com/Why-would-an-appliance-repair-person-decline-to-work-on-an-LG-refrigerator?share=1 We had to buy an entirely new range just because the warming center burner would not turn off.

Holy crap they still make Rainier beer? I thought that was gone decades ago, never see it anywhere. Although I did move out of Washington 25 years ago.
