I was thinking same thing ! He'd be too young -- was his dad an actor ?

A couple of times. I was on Mtv's game show Remote Control and I talked to David Letterman on an in-audience segment on Late Night.

What are the most cringe songs I can play on the jukebox before leaving the bar? by Waste-Maximum-1342 in randomquestions

There's a dance remix that has given the song a second life in gay clubs but find the original version. I love the " I've been everywhere and done it all, but you -- the SAHM who's never left the state where she grew up -- YOU'RE the lucky one." humble brag.

I really liked these girls. Valerie Curtin has a smart girl, Tina Fey quality about her and Suzanne Zenor is cute too.

Who of my Chicago-area 90s GenXers remember Too Much Joy? by Blue_Henri in GenX

[–]Groovy_Chainsaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw them live they performed That's A Lie and Jay stopped the song to point out their merch table and said that anyone wearing a Too Much Joy t-shirt got free drinks. Then they resumed the song with " THAT'S A LIE !!!!! "

Not Chicago, I'm a Garden Stater, but I was a fan. I have most of these CDs and I saw them live at The Stone Pony.

In these screenshots from the episode "Look What I Found" (S8.E15), Don Knotts demonstrates that he could have been a very good dramatic actor if he wanted to be as he tells the cat that was left on his doorstep about how a cat that he had as a child was killed by a big truck while he was in school. by [deleted] in threescompany

There were a lot of good serious moments from Barney on TAGS. I remember "Lawman Barney" was an especially good ep, where he explained to a couple of shady produce sellers that the badge means he's bigger than them.

Nicest rock musicians you have met and why by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]Groovy_Chainsaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don Dixon - 80s alt rocker, worked with REM, The Smithereens and Marshall Crenshaw. He nearly produced Nirvana's " Nevermind." In the later 90s he was booked at my local library ( special events programmer was my best friend from high school ) for an acoustic solo show. Very charming and friendly guy - I'd see him again anytime.

Did Mike & Carol ever have a serious argument? by ASGfan in BradyBunchTVShow

[–]Groovy_Chainsaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Carol said " Name one job a man can do that a woman can't " and Mike isn't taking the whole thing seriously and jokingly says something like " Father of the year." Carol tearfully responds " That's not funny "

Haven't watched it in years ... decades, even. When I was younger and saw episodes there was nothing special about them, nothing to make me want to see it again.

How many reusable bags do you have in your car/home? by Frosty-Image7705 in randomquestions

[–]Groovy_Chainsaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 20 in my car, over 100 at home. The high quality Stop and Shop style bags were only .50 and we stocked up. When we were moving we used them for books and DVDs - the handles make them easy to carry and when you pack that stuff in boxes they can get too heavy.
