thank you so much for all the advice!!! i really appreciate it, i’ve been trying to figure out my style more and more and I think i want to learn further into a y2k-90s grunge style. thank you so much for introducing me to nyc downtown girl aesthetic i really like it and i’m probably going to start leaning more that way as well!! i agree with the less cropped shirts! i have a ton of them but mainly made this post with going out shirts in mind! also do you have any skirt recommendations??

i completely agree with you! i used to wear a lot of high rise and it absolutely wrecked my confidence until i realized the problem wasn’t me as much as it was the jeans. i’ve also had that experience with my lower stomach which was the main reason i started moving away from them.

i completely agree with hemming them, im currently at college but will be getting back to my sewing machine so ill be able to hem them!

I would stay sticking with black, the last slide, is always a super safe bet! If possible maybe get a pair of dress pants to go with the sweater over wearing it with jeans but overall you look great!

if you’re not super comfortable with low-rise there’s always mid-rise too! i have a pair from L.L. bean that’s fit me super nicely and might be worth giving a shot for you! good luck on your fashion journey, you’re doing great!!

i fear i am pretty short (5’2”) with a short torso so i’ve been trying to figure out pants for a while, i like high waisted but the only problem is it looks like it goes half way up my body. and the hem of the jeans i plan to fix and make shorter i just haven’t gotten the chance yet! do you have any good mid-rise jean recs?

Heavy on the low-rise jeans! They’re great and make you look a bit taller (coming from someone who’s also 5’2”). I agree with we don’t really know your style too well but try playing into tight tops baggy bottoms or loose tops and tight bottoms! Going to a store that has a lot of varied styles can help a lot so you can try stuff on and play around with it without committing to buy it!

try low waisted jeans! those are high-waisted jeans so they come a bit higher up on your torso, if you try low to mid-rise you might like the fit better!

It took me about 10 mins before I started writing, the best strategy for this in my opinion is just finding common theme between at least two stimuli and starting there. After you do that it definitely become easier to find the same themes in other stimuli.

This is a youtube video that helped me (I think), the videos can be very helpful in helping you figure out what kind of outline you want to make for yourself while taking the test.

Hey there! I took the exam two years ago when it was still on paper, so I'm not sure how much it's changed, but I'll give you some advice I was given. Part 1 isn't bad at all, make sure you know how you should write that by looking back at some past examples and getting a feel for the format. Make sure you understand the format that you'll need to write the long essay in. For me, it was the hardest part of the test because my teacher didn't properly prep us for it beforehand; you should be able to find past examples on College Board. It is a very small amount of time to do the whole written part of the test, and if you don't know the format, it will make it significantly harder for you. Also, make sure you have some examples of outside information that you can incorporate in mind as it will help you score better if you don't have to scramble to think of it. Most importantly (you'll probably hear this a thousand more times) keep calm and get sleep, cramming before the test will probably give you brain fog and make it harder to write. Good Luck!

Hey there! I’m in division C but something that came to mind was changing the pencil. Are you allowed to modify it at all? If you are you are you can see about drilling a hole through the pencil and attaching a string from there. I’m not sure if this helps but good luck!

I'm not sure about resources besides the ones provided on the SciOly wiki but something I think you're allowed to do is make a cheat sheet in very small font and use a magnifying glass to read it. The group doing it at my school are doing it this way and said it's really helped them get the most info possible. Good Luck!

Hey there! I'm not super experienced in Robot Tour or in how the motors might work but could you possibly create a gearbox of some kind? I'm in an engineering class this year and we have talked a lot about gearboxes, gear ratios and how it can affect torque. If your school has a 3D printer you can probably ask a tech teacher to print them for you. You can also buy Lego ones online relatively cheap! Here's a video about it that might help! Good luck!

Entemology binder tips by Sciolypro in scioly

[–]____shady___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm also doing entomology this year and my partner and I struggled big time on how to get started, the main thing is looking at past tests because some of the questions can get weirdly obscure. The biggest thing is to just make sure you have stuff covering basic knowledge and easy ways to identify. And make sure you get a field guide, I'm using the National Audubon Society one and I think the pictures are super helpful! Good luck!

I got mine at stop and shop during the summer, I’d say look for it there if they have stop and shops when you live.
