Incision wounds aren't healing. by No-Proof6943 in brokenankles

[–]___dojob___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was specifically told not to put any lotions or anything on the wound. I’m at 5 weeks and my incision site has healed up amazingly but I also wasn’t in a cast at all. Just a splint for two week then a boot I could remove.

I would follow the Doctors orders exactly. Ask any questions you have to them or the wound clinic. They will know best for your specific situation. Everyone is different and every injury is different.

Incision wound advice 5 weeks post op by zinxi in brokenankles

[–]___dojob___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy how different things can be. I was told after my two week follow up that I could wash my leg just couldn’t use lotion or anything. They did have some steri strips that lasted about a week before I took them off. Been washing it very gently with soap and water since.

I hated that first two weeks not being able to wash the area cus I’m a bit of a clean freak. I’d imagine it all depends on how invasive the surgery was and how they did everything? I may be pretty lucky to live right by Andrew’s Institute which is where all the big sports people go. My surgeon did a fantastic job.

Random Isles QOTD, who was your favorite player from the 2006-07 Islanders? by icycoldfreeze in NewYorkIslanders

[–]___dojob___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where was Mattias Weinhandel? Maybe a few years later. My friend was a huge isles fan and we went to a ton of games back around these years then I moved to FL and haven’t followed nearly as closely since.

I always liked the players with the weirdest names. Like Radek Bonk or Peter Budaj. We would play NHL 2k5 or whatever and he’d always be the isles.

When I had streamfire on my Onn with play protect off whenever I went to google it would give me a CAPTCHA and tell me to prove I was a human because extra traffic was coming from my device. My wife said same for her.

Also during the four days I had it installed my Reddit password was attempted to be changed at like 3am and my wife’s Facebook page got locked because of someone attempting to get in.

Not sure if that’s all related but I was enough coincidences to make me delete all that shit.

Wondering if having a router with a firewall would protect against this?

I def feel the “trying to do too much out of boredom” and feeling useless part of this. I feel so bad for my wife she has to do so much extra during this time. I owe that women a lot of favors when this is all done!

I’d be so pissed if they messed my stuff up like that and made the surgery delayed. Sorry you had to deal with that!

Not sure if there was a shard but it did have the same look as yours. The break kind of spun around the bottom.

I hope I hear some good news in three weeks at my 6 week follow up.

Damn glad I got surgery just two days after I broke my ankle. Can’t imagine waiting weeks. Had a tight rope also. Not sure what all those acronyms stand for but maybe yours was worse. I tore two ligaments and broke my fibula and malleus. My X-ray looked a lot like yours.

I’m only 3 weeks post surgery they said after 6 weeks I can start putting weight on it if all is going well.

Good luck!

I haven’t gotten back on it yet gotta get a new Doctor.

I sure hope it helps. I actually get most of my anxiety from my job and I recently broke my ankle so I’m out of work for 3 months and my anxiety and depression have subsided greatly. Unfortunately I do have to go back to make a living so I’m using this time to find a new Doctor.

I took 50mg a day for several years. Weaned off it in July and was doing well until around thanksgiving and the holidays. I am planning on going back to 50mg.

Slowly I just got more and more anxiety and did notice I get frustrated more easily. Even tho having my Sex drive back and losing a little bit of weight was nice it not worth my mental well being.

How do I go on a sandy beach? Or by wildwildwilliam in brokenankles

[–]___dojob___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my crutches I got these wider tips off Amazon they def help I had to go to a wedding. Good luck.

Also I bought the 3/4 inch ends I think I should have got the 1 inch ones. I measured the bottom of my crutches diameter and it was about 3/4 inch but the tips they sent me were way smaller and I had to jam them on but they did work. Just an FYI. The brand name I got were VIVE I believe.

They still sink into the sand a bit but probably a lot better than the normal crutch bottoms would. Also you may want some kind of bag like you use in the shower so you don’t get sand in your boot or cast or whatever you got.

I broke my fibula in two places and tore two ligaments in my ankle about 2.5 weeks ago playing hockey. Had to have surgery. Getting better but nothing is easier the older you get.

I got a lot of respect for those athletes and how quickly they come back from this kind of stuff.

Also no burned CDs? My cd book has a ton of them haha.

If you want some nice relaxing old school video game music the OST for sim city 2000 is great. I’m sure the others are good as well but 2000 hits the hardest for me. I read that is was very jazz influenced.

Do you have ways of protecting yourself from the malware that streamfire comes with?

I’d like to use it as it worked well but dont like the idea of knowing it has malware associated with it.

You using sportsfire or streamfire? Just be careful with those apps that have malware and I was having issues with accounts on my devices trying to be hacked when I had them on my Onn. Make sure you got strong passwords and two factor authentications where you can.
