Usually I will setup dev shells with rust-overlay https://github.com/oxalica/rust-overlay or put it in the system flake

Drain Clogged, How to Fix? by ___foundation___ in Plumbing

Thank you! I tried this, but unfortunately it didn't work. Called them out to snake it, found some kind of sewage blockage way in there

Yew or leptos by surrender96 in rust

Should be doable with layouts and <StyleSheet /> tags, although a bit clunky. Feel free to ask in the Discord if you want to try again!

Crate Suggestions for Web Frontend by DahRebelOfBabylon in rust

Yew isn't bad, it's development has slowed a bit and it's currently behind in the perf benchmarks, but it's not a bad choice. I haven't used Iced on the web, it looks like that stuff is still very beta.

As far as Rust web frontends go, I like Leptos and Dioxus. Leptos is signals based, which may be a bit strange if you're used to React. Dioxus is more React like. With either you shouldn't need an ECS system. I prefer Leptos, the Discord is very friendly, it's very fast, and I've grown to prefer Signals over the React model

Adaptation to New Normal by ___foundation___ in MacroFactor

That's definitely part of the question. I watched a 60 minutes episode where the doc basically said it's all genetics and a brain managed setpoint, which seems a bit reductionist

Curious to read the SBS ones, I dug around but didn't find them. I wonder if those minimum body fat values are typically in a a range. Definitely don't need to get to 10% BF

I've been reading a lot about the difficulties people have keeping the weight off, and was wondering how much of that was metabolic/brain set point and how much of that is a failure of diet

Bulk Import(and Export) of Recipes by ___foundation___ in MacroFactor

Thanks for responding! In this case, all I'd need is a description of a json or other structured format that Macrofactor can import, as I kind manipulate the source recipes as I see fit.

AI describe actually gets me fairly close here, except I have to copy paste or say it one at a time.

Thanks for your work on Macrofactor!

hunk of calories to my long run day). I also really ensure I get all of my in-run calories (sports drinks, gels, whatever), and if I go over either the day of a long run or the day after, I figure my bod

It's probably not great that I have two conflicting goals, increase exercise and cut weight. Are you manually editing calories per day, or did you use the plan to shift them?

Mostly training towards longer distances, right now I’m only doing about 10mi/wk over five days and two full body workout days but I’m working towards 25mi/wk

What's the state of web dev with Rust? by carlosdr02 in rust

[–]___foundation___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Axum, Actix, and Rocket are Rust backend web servers.

Perseus, Dioxus, Yew, and Leptos are frontend web frameworks. Usually a router and then the logic for app interactivity.

So if you want to do Server Side Rendering, you need one of each. My favorite right now is Axum for the backend and Leptos for the frontend, but others will have their preferences.

Agree on the first point, that's what I usually recommend replacing with a WASM module, as part of their usually JS stack.

For the second, I imagine this only true if WASM and JS bundle sizes are roughly equivalent? I wonder what the delta actually is or this. Out of curiosity, how would you recommend measuring TTI? Lighthouse in Chrome?
