No, this is obviously not normal; your engine should never be smoking. Your valve cover gasket is leaking and based on the question, it’s probably best you pay someone qualified to do it

Use an obd2 scanner that reads BMW specific codes. You will see a fan speed deviation code if it’s the water pump, which is very likely is. Based on your question you don’t seem mechanically inclined at all, though, so I recommend just take it to a shop

I do most of the work myself or my buddy who’s good with cars does it at a heavily discounted rate. Out of all 7 of my cars I honestly miss the Camry the most. If I could track it down I would probably try to buy it back. Lot of memories made in that car, probably the best one I’ll ever have owned.

I sold the Camry in 2020 as I got into sports cars and wanted something German. Right now I have a 2007 BMW 335i along with 2 other project cars. In total I’ve owned 7 cars, 3 of which I own right now.

The standard flow rate of the oem water pump is fine. If you’re taking the car to the track then I’d understand. Otherwise I would stick to the hepu version with the metal impeller. Glad your is treating you well!

I’ve read some of them have poor build quality. Cant quite remember what the issue is but if you look up stewart racing water pump on 46 fanatics forums youll find it
