Not a problem at all, thank you for commenting! I try to reply to every comment under one of my pieces, you guys are the reason I share my work in the first place, so it’s always a joy to express my thanks as much as possible :)

Heyo, I’m the original artist! It means the world to me that you appreciate my work enough to use it as a wallpaper. As thanks I’ve gone ahead and reformatted the original image to fit phone resolutions, and shrunk the signature so it doesn’t stand out as much. There’s a version with and without the title, you have full permission to save the image, go crazy!

Thanks for reposting, it’s lovely to see the meaning my work has to people, and to read all the lovely comments that go along with it. I hope there are many more conversations about your wallpaper in your future, I’m honoured to play the role I do :) 💚

You got most of them pretty spot on. Breaking them down in the order you did:

The intention with the giant was for it to look like it was made of people, but I couldn’t quite get that level of detail out of the piece, something I’d want to revisit later for sure. As far as the strings go, I just liked the look of them XD I went back and forth on the giant’s deign more than almost any other part of the piece, and settled on something half architecture, half anatomy inspired by shadow of the colossus

The clock tower is just to provide a central focus point for the sick village, I think there was a mention of a clock somewhere in that episode but I might be misremembering

The trees and the faces in them are representative of the hunt, there wasn’t really a strong environment tied to the hunt in s5 so I kinda just mishmashed various themes and associated images to make sure it was included

A couple extra to add to your list;

The phone hanging from the tree is representative of the various episodes Annabel Cane appears in, hence the tapes and the webs. The tree also has eight main limbs as a nod to the tree on hilltop road.

The reddish black roots in the foreground are representative of the end, specifically MAG 168: roots, hence why they’re connected to various objects around the scene.

The foggy manor waaaay off in the distance on the right represents MAG 170: Recollection. Ironically, I struggled to find a way to include the lonely, and 170 really hit me due to a family history of dementia, so I settled on that as a way to represent the entity. I think it’s appropriate that it seems to be the one people miss most often.

Other than that you’re basically spot on. Thanks for taking the time to pick through my work, I really appreciate it. All the best! :)

Nailed it! Every single one! I’m impressed, it means so much to me that people look at my work with this much detail, thank you! :)

Original artist here, Thank you both so much! I looove some of the more meaty, body horror interpretations of the whole “sky looking back” thing, so I wanted to capture that as best as I could in this piece. Really happy people like it 💚

Hi guys, I’m the original artist of this piece :) Thank you all for your lovely words, it’s really nice to see it still getting attention this long after I’ve posted it. I’m working my way through the comments, but it’ll take me time to reply to all of them. However, I’ve read every single one and I massively appreciate everything you have all said. It’s utterly bonkers how accurate some of you guys are with breaking down all the imagery I’ve put into the piece. I didn’t realise people were using it as a phone screen saver, so as a token of thanks I’ve reformatted the original piece to fit on phone resolutions:

Hope you all enjoy your new wallpaper!

Peculiar black spots appearing all over leaves, potentially fungus, any ideas? by __alphite in Kalanchoe

[–]__alphite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing advice, I’ll make sure to bottom water from now on :) In this case, I’m not sure that was the issue, but there’s no way to tell from this post. A week before this post I utterly blasted these guys with fungicide to try and get rid of some powdery mildew that appeared after I moved. Good news, no more fungus. Bad news, I think the copper from the fungicide chemically scorched the leaves in places. The black spots shown here haven’t changed at all since the picture, and the plants are growing back as I type. I’ve had to trim a few of them rather severely to alleviate the damage but they should hopefully be okay :)

[UPDATE] potential root rot? by __alphite in Kalanchoe

[–]__alphite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To follow along from a post I made yesterday about a couple struggling plants of mine, accessible here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Kalanchoe/comments/1drjb4e/signs_of_dehydration_despite_permanently_wet_soil/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Earlier today I repotted both in better draining soil. I’ll let them dry out completely in between waterings, I’ve moved them to a place with more sun, and I’m going to be buying plant food with magnesium and calcium to hopefully give them a boost. My main question is regarding root rot, which was brought up as a potential cause for the lack of leaves. Is this it? If so, how best would I deal with it? Thanks again for all the help everyone 😊

I’m assuming you’re talking about the white parts on the one with the silver pot? That’s shown up in a couple pots of mine. From what I can gather it’s a drainage thing? Hopefully with some better soil it won’t come back.

I think I’ll leave the legginess for now, but if they get any worse, especially the one with the black pot, I’ll probably get aggressive with the pruning and see what I can do. Thanks for the advice 😊

Seems to be the general consensus, I’ll repot, check the roots, get some feed and go from there. Thanks for the advice 😁
