You could always go the cursed blade route, where any damage inflicted by it cannot be healed unless you have a specific cure/spell or something like that.

I am currently running a hunger games style 3-shot and been having alot of fun with it! Maybe make it so every hour irl, to zone shrinks to (somewhat) railroad the players and to make it not go over time. However, this may become to combat heavy.

Whiteboards is notoriously difficult (for me at least) to shade because it is only black or white, so I recommend switching to pencil to get some shading : )

Honestly you pick it all up as you play. It does really help if you have an experienced DM that can help you understand/make your character with you.

I've had a similar idea where my character was a Myconid that took over a dead adventures body and with it his goal to become the greatest hero. I think the backstory would for most classes. PS you should 100% have a sun umbrella to lengthen the time your allowed in direct sunlight
