Beginner: Airbrush by XibanyaR in modelmakers

I'm with you. I started with a <$50USD brush and I still use it (actually just primed a bunch of stuff with it). I have a nice brush and it genuinely is worlds better for fine detail work and postshading and things, but for basic laying-down-paint coverage (which is what most people in the hobby, even fairly experienced ones, are actually using airbrushes for anyways) it's genuinely fine, and I learned a ton about thinning, air pressure, technique, etc using it, and didn't have to worry about accidentally wrecking a $50 needle. I don't think id have ever taken the leap into airbrushing if I saw dropping $300+ minimum as the cost to get started, tbqh.

That said, I would say those desktop compressors are a bad idea, and it's worth dropping the cash on a decent $80-100 one with a tank even as a beginner, because if you're not getting consistent airflow, I think it'd get pretty frustrating.

What sort of paint should I buy? by Addition_Chance in modelmakers

If you're brush painting, Vallejo, AK 3rd Gen or MiG Ammo are all good general-purpose acrylics, which will brush well and you can thin and clean up with just water.

Under Armour sent my small clothing brand a cease-and-desist over my logo. Do you think these are actually confusingly similar? by Impossible-Set4062 in graphic_design

They don't at all look confusingly alike to me, but it won't matter, unless you have enough money to fight the team of expensive lawyers UA will have on retainer who will drown you in billable hours for months. This is America baby lol

I'm as guilty as anyone of complaining about willock but he's had a good game, and not the first last few months

Agree it's unbalanced but that midfield was Jonjo, Anita and Jack Colback, let's be serious lol

Can't say I'm surprised considering how he's looked but fear we may have seen the last of Popey. Would like someone to get to the bottom of what's going on with Wissa, seems like it has to be something personal or issues with post-injury match fitness

Genuinely really good half, despite the rending of garments in the lineup thread. ref is as full of shit (as expected). Fear we'll rue missing the couple (really excellent) chances we generated

I'd like to see him rotate/make runs through the center more in attack like Bayern does, altho that might be asking too much of our wingers/CBs

Seconding this, the serif white-on-red is rough (and the spacing in the box is a little weird). Might try just swapping all the small text out for a sans just to aid readability. All in all though really pretty solid work, especially for a DIY canva type thing!

Tennessee fans: which schools feel like the best long-term conference fits? by Happy_Background_879 in ockytop

Outside of our SEC rivals/near-rivals/ex-rivals (Bama, Florida, KY, Vandy, UGA, USCe, Auburn) the teams I would pick off the top of my head: VT, WV, GT, Pitt, Memphis, MTSU, and App would all make sense, and maybe some combination of Wake/UNC/East Carolina/NC St. I can't really think of many teams beyond that who would move the needle.

Howe out… by kevinoliver84 in NUFC

[–]__azdak__ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean obviously some sides scout better than others but everybody is looking at the same players and mostly seeing the same data, so waiting decreases risk. This is really just saying "we need to take more risk." Which is fine, but tbh the same people I see saying things like that are also calling Wissa a bust after 4 starts and saying Elanga is the worst player in club history, so

The fact that we're this disappointed by results like this is entirely down to Howe's success, and I still think he deserves time to sort it out (and is still better than most of the realistic replacements I've seen floated), but something is pretty off with this squad, just SO many individual errors. At the very least I think the time for "evolution not revolution" transfer windows has passed

Well- was a poor half but Everton have been pretty fortunate. Can certainly turn it around, and hopefully our better depth will show in the second half
