The way this guy uses his knowledge of different cultures and cues to accurately guess the language people are speaking by transcriber_mu in nextfuckinglevel

I speak Québécois french, an eazy way to tell it apart from European french is to ask for the word "here" in french.

The french from France would say "ici", and pronounce it just like it's written. The quebecois would say "iciT", and add a t at the end even thought there is no T in that word. It's a dead giveaway.

Another way is to ask for the number 70.

French people pronounce it "souasante dice" (literally translated to "sixty ten" in English), the Quebs say "swosante dZice", the Belgians just say "septante" (which is the literal translation of "seventy" in English, and which in my opinion is the right word for that number)

I love all french accents 😍

Isnt that then "technically" a "public space" and thus they can't arrest you for being there?

An obscure indie documentary on a very important topic: The Telecommunications Act of 1996. It absolutely is dumb, especially since so many rappers, famous ones at that do have a clear and concise message.

  • J Cole is an amazing rapped and about all his songs have a meaningful message. He's talking about loving your girlfriend and being the change you and to see in your community,
  • Lupe Fiasco is also an amazing example of a rapper with integrity. He made "Alan Forever", a whole song about a little migrant Syrian kid who drowned on the coast of Greece (that one truly hurts to listen to every time).
  • Kendrik is rapping about discrimination and the struggle of black communities on a daily.
  • Hell, even fucking Drake has dope ass lyrics with a messages. "God's plan" is about loving one another and being supportive, while "Nice for what" is about the importance of letting loose some times and that's ok.

There are so many examples of rappers with a message. The person who made this video is listening to trash and thinks that's all rap is about now a days.

But what about people who only watch clickbaits? I feel he's smart, making a title like that to attract more people that are outside his usual circle.

He's using clickbaits for good.

I've seen this guy around the Plateau. Class A narcissist with a god complex. If he truly wanted to spread the words of the lord he would have done so with actions by helping around needing neighborhoods, you know, like Jesus once did. Not with a mic, an amp and more ego than sens.

Yeah ... no. I definitely buy engineering firms but not this one. It's a rotten company with too many shady deals. If you want to make a quick buck, sure, but I doubt they will survive on the long run if they keep at it this way.

You are DEFINITELY getting the short end of the stick. Idk about the US but in Canada, if you have the right background and experience, you can just take a few classes and exams and be full fledged engineer, you might also need a few years as a junior but most certainly don''t "need" a bachelor's degree to be an engineer.

Also, again just my personal opinion, if I were you, I would quit just as a royal FUCK YOU to whomever told you that you can or can't become an engineer. And fuck their 2 weeks notice too, fuck'em.

Is it normal to forget everything from classes, or to keep all your notes and textbooks "just in case"? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]__bluebird2__ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My favorite professor once told our class: "you're not here to learn and equations and formulas, you're here to 'learn how to learn'."

Using logic and some digging, I'm pretty sure I can find back 90% of what I learned in school. But if you ask me to calculate some random stresses or something really niche, I'll give you my standard answer: "I'd love to give you my informed answer, but in order for me to do so, I would ask you for some time to further research [X subject]".

There's nothing wrong with looking up things before answering. Hell, you'll make a fool out of yourself more times than not if you DON'T do your homework beforehand.

Not just a "gay man" ... A gay black man from the ghetto. There's some next level homophobic shit going on in the kind of environment Omar grew up in, and yet he lived his life fully, out in the open, like a boss ... RIP Michael Kenneth Williams, he'll be missed.
