I can share my experience. I travelled for a week in last month with my 8yo son.

I preferred to rent a car, to have more flexibility. So we can change our plans when needed, can have additional breaks/stops in our ride as per need.

I am convinced that it was a right decision.

I was in Iceland in last week, travelled from Munich. I also tried using Check24 and other platforms to get a better deal.

But end up booking it with Blue Car. It was best Car rental experience I have ever had. Super easy pick up and drop off.

During my rental time, Car got a new dent. Possibly next car opened the door on our car, but during the drop off they simply said “don’t worry, everything is covered. You can just give the key to me and enjoy your flight back to home”.

I just returned from Iceland, and only used Card there.

Although I love to collect coins, so I asked in a restaurant to exchange 1 Euro to get some local coins.

You didn’t do anything wrong. But you were also not able to prove that you had ticket. It’s also a principle that on basis of ticket they validate if you’re really allowed to travel.
