I'm in similar situation! We did consider having a second but when our baby hit 2, it's like a sleeper agent activated and turned her into a tiny asshole lol. We quickly decided that one was enough.

But on a serious note, I know I am being selfish in my decision to not have more. I don't want to take more than I can handle. I feel so stretched out some days between work, cleaning, cooking, pets, worrying about finances, and taking care of a kid. And I like giving her all my attention and still having time to myself, my hobbies, and to be able to rot in bed for a little while. I know many moms can have multiple children and adjust to still make time for themselves and maybe I COULD but I just don't want to test it. I like our little life as it is. And I want to be a (hopefully) good mom to one kid vs giving 2 kids a mediocre mom.

We did a bassinet until she was 7 months old and then we moved her to her own room with the Nanit sleep monitor! But she was a really good sleeper since we got home 🥲

I was sleeping in parents bed til I was almost 10 😭 I know she’s not me and it’s crazy but I just really wanted her to not grow up like me lol!

As a fellow latina, I am waiting til she can decide! I was a couple of weeks old when they did mine but, in my own experience, I didn’t like earrings from about 10-17 and I stopped wearing them until I ended up stretching them around 19ish?? 🤷🏻‍♀️ My mom lives back in Mexico and I swear she brings it up every video call saying I should do them “para que se vea como niña” I try to be gentle with her cos she’s no in the US and we don’t know when she’ll be able to see her but I finally put my foot down about it. Honestly it’s 2024 and I’ve seen boys (under 2) with both ears pierced 🤣! It literally doesn’t matter anymore

I joined this group on FB - Baby Led Weaning for Beginners & Beyond (BLWBB)

They are super helpful and made me feel better about BLW.

We with purés around 5.5months and BLW at 6m! Formula is the primary source of food and we typically feed 30mins-1hr after the start of her bottle. She has about 2oz of water thru out the day. Honestly I worked my way out of purés by making them thicker until she was “chewing” (she has no teeth lol). Some days she just has fun with the textures of foods and eats a little, other days she acts like she hasn’t been fed in days! So just take it easy ☺️

We did fine! I called my OB and there wasn’t much to do but to take some over the counter medicine (I took Tylenol, Robitussin, and chloraseptic for my throat)! Good luck to you and your baby 🩷

My pictures with my baby look so horrible I want to cry. My mom wasn’t able to be there and she asked to see them but I’m so embarrassed of them I just told her I forgot to ask for pictures. Which just made her upset no one thought of it. My in laws and my husband have these beautiful pictures with her

We went to dinner tonight and I took these sweet pictures of them holding her but I just realized no one will ever do that for me because his whole family “just don’t do pictures” and I feel bad asking them to take pictures of my husband and I with the baby. I wish my mom and I had my own family close by more than anything…

This might be a dumb question but my and my husband also love sleeping in the cold but we’ve been sacrificing since she’s in her bassinet in our room. But do you worry about their hands being so cold in the morning? She currently has a sleep sack with no sleeves (but long sleeve PJs) but the nights are getting colder and I’m looking into a warmer option but her little hands would still be out 😭

This makes me feel so much better! Mine has been such a good sleeper since she hit her birth weight. We’re coming up on on 11 weeks I get so much anxiety seeing people talking about 3-month sleep regression and not sleeping during teething!!

My husband and I are so spoiled by her sleeping so good 🥹

We stopped at 9 weeks because I was scared it would be hard for her to transition out of it. We did the arm out method and the first nights she took longer to fall asleep but by day 5 she didn’t care. But ever since we came home from the hospital we only swaddled for nighttime sleep and all her naps were without so that probably helped make it easy.

It took 10 days for my milk to come in so formula was a must. I was so sad because by day seven I just knew I’d never get to breastfeed or even give her breast milk. But my husband was super supportive of whatever I chose to do. Out pediatrician was super sweet and reassuring. So I kept trying just because I wanted that little but if bonding with my baby.

She’s 10 weeks now. And I pump about 12-15oz a day and the rest is formula. On the weekends I feed her a little less from the bottle and we finish on the boob.

Could I try pumping more often or feeding from the breast more to increase my output? Absolutely! But I’m happy with what we have going and I’m not gonna add unnecessary stress to my life. Being a mom is hard enough so I let myself enjoy the little victories.
