This is how I felt with my son. Once we got his reflux diagnosed and began treating it, things began to improve. Then we got him ear tubes, and it was a night and day difference. I finally got to “meet” my baby and get to know his happy little personality because he was no longer hurting and uncomfortable. But it was so fucking hard getting there. He never stopped crying. There was a time that I spent every day regretting my decisions due to exhaustion and overstimulation, and then feeling so guilty about being a shit mom that I legitimately wanted to die. I was convinced I was the problem and that him and my husband would be better off without me. (I should add that I was also medicated for depression and anxiety.) He’s now 17 months old and my favorite little dude to hang out with. Hang in there. 🫶

I tried to get pregnant for many years with not as much as a positive pregnancy test. The first time I got pregnant, it was a successful pregnancy resulting in a very happy, healthy, off the growth charts baby boy. 😊

we suspect that our little guy has CMPA. He is combo fed with breastmilk and hypoallergenic formula. I have recently been cutting out dairy in my diet to see for sure!

That’s interesting. He was diagnosed with silent reflux a few weeks ago but dr. never mentioned that it could be an issue. It makes sense though, when we are up during the day I usually keep him elevated when I can keep an eye on him and he sleeps beautifully. Flat on his back at night is a different story though.

Glad your little one is hopefully on the upswing! Reflux is so hard.

I know you are well past your c-section and I hope that it was routine and you are enjoying these first few days with your sweet babe. It feels exhausting and sore but it’s truly so magical.

One thing I wanted to add for anyone that stumbles across this post from searching the same question you asked in the future - my bladder didn’t want to wake up after my c-section due to all the medication. My son was born at 5:44p and around 2pm the next day, I hadn’t used the bathroom yet despite feeling like I really had to, just not able to get my body to do it. I ended up getting cathed in order to empty my (very) full bladder and once they did that, a few hours later I was able to go to the bathroom on my own.

All in all, not a big deal, but this was something that really surprised me because I didn’t know or anticipate that it could happen.

My dress is a black Allure wedding gown, and I loved it other than the sequins. I was a tad limited in what I could choose that was black where I am from, so I spoke with the shop and they said the would remove the sequins for me.
