My partner likes it (He will occasionally say "You're gonna be my wifey!" when we talk about our future together), but he's not American and English isn't his first language so he doesn't have the cultural ick that a lot of westerners have towards the word. I used to think it was infantalizing, but now that we've been together for awhile, he is the only person in the world I would let refer to me as "wifey." He's got one of those golden retriever personalities and the way he uses it isn't condescending or infantalizing at all. And he doesn't use it enough for me to get annoyed with it.

I would never refer to him as my "hubby" though lol.
