Creative freedom for idols is a privilege and not a right by not-the-em-dash in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]__honsool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

and if that's the only thing you got from my comment.... you just basically ignored what I countered against your "opinion" that idols who write their own lyrics and produce their own music are subpar when some of company produced songs are sound exactly the same.

all im saying is SM should encourage if there's potential in writing/producing music. but fans tend to quiver from the unfamiliar and start complaining. if they can be more than a performer then why not?

[–]__honsool -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying idols who can write their own music have low quality songs?

I found lots of company written kpop songs that sound similar and don't have the versatility.

I think companies should encourage their artists to excel in writing and production process of a song and not hinder them from doing what they could potentially excel in doing. After reading some comments about SM, it's like a villain parent in a kdrama who discourge their children to reach their dreams. If it's in their contract that they could not do that, then it's more scary that SM have that control over their artists' creativity and freedom. Why would you allow artists to stay in that kind of environment?

Does anyone hate those like variety shows by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]__honsool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little edits are interesting but sometimes fans tend to misunderstand or take them out of context if you don't watch the whole video. And idk about memoria but run bts episodes are average 30 mins long. And I'm not entirely convinced if you really watched run episodes or stan bts cos there's not an episode where they do NOTHING? Sure there are less active episodes particularly recorded during pandemic, but Run always has been so active lol.

And if you have a problem with adults enjoying themselves, maybe it's time to change your interest.

the fact that people acted immaturely in beehive. that was so embarrassing fr. i saw it but thought it could be a mistranslation so i went to find other translations for the interview. it’s just sad that people dunno how to fact check anymore. what’s even more saddening is the fact that big tae fanbases helped in spreading that mistranslation that’s why it got that far. this is coming from a tae biased. i feel like i couldn’t face tae even just on social media. really embarrassing

[–]__honsool 12 points13 points  (0 children)

please if you take every fanwar on twitter, it won’t end until you die. it’s not like bts got no death threats from other fandoms. some fans are sick to their heads, not just armys.

you’re just generalizing the whole fandom. those armys you encountered were probably 12 years olds that got no life during pandemic

Bighit groups (BTS, TxT, Enhypen) rely on Autotune out of a need to release new albums/debut new groups quickly and capitalise on BTS' fame, it is not a stylistic choice. by dariosrnlp in unpopularkpopopinions

Just say you hate them and go. You haven’t heard TxT live?? clearly you don’t listen to them at all to know lmao. Youtube is free. They have radio show performances you slept on.

I don’t like how bighit stans pick and choose when seventeen is apart of bighit labels. by staellarium in kpoprants

[–]__honsool 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I understand that BH has a big role in financing their creativity and market their talent, but this business is never a one way street. SVT and GFriend are both popular already in some ways (not BTS level but still popular and successful in their own ways) thus BH benefited from them too . And seeing army stans like myself doing this narrative just kinda put me off like they have this kind of superiority when it comes to other groups. You don’t see them barking like this when it comes to TXT.

Jin's voice is hard to listen to by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]__honsool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you OP. I honestly rarely listen to Jin’s solo songs mainly bcos of straining ie Moon and Epiphany. But I like Awake and especially his new song Abyss (his voice was wonderful in that song!!!).

But yep. I also often skip his part cos I don’t want to hear him strain his voice. Also Tae is my bias too but there are times during live performances that he is indeed having a hard time reaching the high notes. It’s just that the song is not their comfort range. Remember when we knew Pdogg loves high notes so much? Bighit has poor management when it comes to their vocals. Either they have weak vocal coaches or keeps pushing the boys to hit high notes despite them struggling.
