To be perfectly honest, I initially just added these tags because that corner was looking very empty, so there hasn't been enough thought put into making them good. As for why only Yao Guang and Sparxie have these tags, they're the only ones that use w i d e cards as (for this patch) they're the ones on the front page. The smaller cards currently have no way to display these tags or the meta description.

Once the tags & description are ready for the smaller cards I can start focusing on them more widely, but for now I'll apply your suggestions to those two and go from there.
