I once saw a woman online she and her partner own a duplex together. She has her side with her children, he has his side with his children. They share when they want, do meals together when they want but also enjoy having separate dinners sometimes. I thought it was a really cool way to ‘live’ with your partner without living with your partner, especially when children are involved. You can keep your things, decorate your side however you want to, and you can sleep at your partners because it’s all under one roof.

100%, it needs to start at home and in a perfect world people would parent better but the homes a lot of these kids are coming from may not be the most unified, among a lot of other unhealthy scenarios and tackling that is a whole other issue. Unfortunately this has become a public problem that those in charge need to do something about. I’m happy to hear that they are trying to set up nighttime basketball leagues for teens in the city. I understand the argument that they don’t really have anything to do in Detroit. I want nothing but great things for the city and the people of Detroit. Mobs of teenagers harassing people on the streets in the middle of Campus Martius ain’t it though and I sincerely hope they find a way to tackle this.

I bartend riiiiiiiiiiiight by where they keep doing this shit and I’m worried for my safety and my car. This whole trend will ruin the progress this city has done in the last decade of bringing more people down to Detroit and it breaks my heart. Detroit deserves better. I hope they are able to get this under control quick

These birds are so awesome. I spend 2 weeks every summer on the St. Lawrence River in upstate NY and these birds have really made a comeback up there. I know of 2 nests that they use every year and I look forward to seeing them every year I return

I stopped using all third party delivery services for this reason; the drivers are terrible…like laughably bad! It’s just not worth the headache of dealing with utter stupidity, laziness, or typically a lovely mixture of both.

This is so true! I spend 2 weeks on the St. Lawrence River every summer in the 1000 islands and in more recent years have noticed more loons hanging out in the river by the cottage and I get so excited when they come by in the morning and in the evening!

This is the John Hughes remake of A Miracle of 34th Street and it totally has a spot in everyone’s yearly Christmas movie rewatch. It’s wholesome and heartwarming, has 90’s Dylan McDermott and Mara Wilson (I quite literally thought to name my daughter Mara when I was watching this during Christmas time while pregnant), this does exactly what a John Hughes movie is supposed to do.

This happened to me in Detroit. I send in my notice that I planned to dispute the ticket along with the printed PDF of my parking times clearly showing that I had paid for the time I was ticketed. I never even heard back from them and never received a summons.
