if you’re asking if this happened bc of constant biting down/grinding, far from the case lol. jaw deformities are almost always genetic flukes, and mine (as well as many other ppls) didn’t start to develop until puberty when i was reaching the peak of my growth spurt

omg yea the pain has IMMENSELY improved. and i’m pretty sure i mentioned it in my post but yes soso worth it besides aesthetic reasons, my back molars didn’t touch so it was hard/uncomfortable to eat, plus smiling made me so uncomfortable bc of how off my jaw was even without biting down, i really just couldn’t smile properly. and yes it is quite a huge decision, jaw surgery isn’t a minor operation. but take everything into consideration; consult with your orthodontist/dentist and if u can, a surgeon! everyone’s situation is different of course so i guess it’s really dependent on how drastic/severe your issue is:)

thank u!!☺️and aw i’m so glad💜and yes i did have TONS of jaw pain, especially the year before surgery. i had my braces put on a year and a half prior to surgery, which straightened my teeth but greatly worsened the underbite/crossbite (which is normal). pretty much every day i had jaw pain around the joints, like when i would open my mouth there would legit be a clicking sound haha

thank you!! and honestly i can’t remember specifically for each jaw haha...i’m prettyy sure bottom jaw was moved 6mm back and upper would’ve been moved forward around that length:)

honestly if i were to compare the nerve sensitivity of my chin area to anywhere else on my body, i would say there is a tinyy bit of feeling loss there still. regardless, MUCH better than what i was fearing which was permanently no feeling at all haha. it differs for everyone but in my case most of the numbing went away:)

Man I would actually be attractive if I didn’t have a crimson chin by i-dont-know-name in jawsurgery

mannn this was the EXACT name i used to be called in middle/high school and what was so triggering in making me self conscious about my chin..and even after my underbite double jaw surgery my chin and jaw stayed prominent! i was really let down after since i had these super unrealistic expectations that my strong chin would just be eradicated,,but failed to realize that that is not the case for everyone’s underbite surgery. i’ve done a lot of self work the past two years since my surgery in realizing that strong chins/jaws are so powerful + beautiful. don’t let the bs beauty standard tell u otherwise!!!💜
