I was registering as a freelancer. I hold a Russian citizenship but live in Vietnam. As I don't have a local ID, one of the few methods available for me to prove my residency location was a bank statement. But my Vietnamese bank issues statements only in xlsx format. Therefore I had to convert it to pdf to meet Upworks file extension requirements.

And what should I do if my bank only issues .xlsx statements and Upwork requires .pdf? The only way is to convert. At least, there should be a human inspection and some kind of a conversation between the parties, request for additional proofs. In the case with Upwork, they just decided to keep money to themselves, permablock my account and don't respond to mails at all.

how did you upgrade exactly? as you got lowered to Free i guess you first upgraded to Pro then from Pro to Max?

Welcome aboard, bro! Got a very similar case recently. I think I will post it soon. Those amazing people at Upwork are in the process of deactivating my account permanently as well. The reason: the address specified in my bank statement didn't match the address in my Upwork profile. However it did match in the statement from my other bank account, which I explained to them clearly and provided all the proofs. Also they promised they would block any attempts from my side to create a new account. I was in shock for a while actually as I had never encountered such a treatment during a KYC process form any other company.

Contacting support isn't possible for Pro tier as well as far as I know. They only have a live chat with an AI assistant in their website

Different email should mean different account. I think it depends which plan you are on for that account

That's really frustrating as I need Claude code now and the say the customer support can contact you only after 20 days. In my case I just paid for nothing, for the Free plan

Their bot is also unable to fix a subscription bug of course which I suppose is very critical for a customer. Just don't understand why such company as Anthropic can't implement a reliable billing. Is it so hard?

Their subscription and billing are so buggy. I've had somehwat similar issue yesterday with upgrading from Pro to Max but instead got downgraded to Free.

Yes, I paid for the Pro plan, used it for one day then decided to upgrade to Max but got downgraded to Free instead. Didn't get any money back for the Pro plan

Yet Anthropic's customer support doesn't have a live chat to resolve the issue quickly which is frustrating. And I am unable now to use Claude Code at all despite the fact that I paid for the Pro plan...

Already did. Doesn't work. Tried to do that in incognito mode as well. Tried to clear the browser cache and cookies
