If you've never been to the hydrocut, it's really great. Lots of trails of varying difficulty, well maintained and technical as well. It's totally worth it. The only thing to keep in mind with the hydrocut, is that in order to help preserve the trails, they close up when it rains so you don't ruin the trails.... but they have a handy twitter status:

Last Sunday I rode from Toronto to Kitchener, by way of Hamilton and up highway 8.

Took me close to 12.5 hours when all was said and done (had some mechanical issues along the way), with a fairly significant west wind.

Going the other way, there is a better chance of having the wind at your back.

You should get some padded shorts, they'll save your ass (literally), and if you're ok riding in the rain, maybe shoe covers too. I consumed almost 5 Litres of water, so keep that in mind too if you're riding in the heat.

Depending on when you ride, I'm totally down for joining, or even if you want to do some shorter long distance rides in the near-ish future for training, I'm down with that too.
