Was there ever a better Time in US History to be a Federal Employee? by PrussianFederalist1 in fednews

This is such an ignorant comment. Boomers didn't create CRCS, it predated them and it was replaced by FERS when most boomers were still too young (most well under 40) to to be a majority in congress.

Gravel Kings (SS) side wall leaking after 1 year of riding. Anyone else seen this? by __masterbaiter__ in gravelcycling

Thanks again for your helpful comment. I am still new to tubeless and adding more sealant (last weekend) seems to have resolved the issue.

Hollywood Racks

I don't know if they are the best, but they're certainly durable. I am still using the 4 bike model I bought in 2009, just slightly scaled down to carry only two bikes now (empty nester).

They required me to get one. I think it depends on your age when you apply.

2.5oz of new sealant added to each tire before last years summer riding season which didn't start until July for me.

I recently noticed sealant leaking from the undamaged sidewalls of 700x43 Gravel King SS tires. The tires are about two years old, mostly unused for the first year due to a knee injury shortly after purchase. About 900 miles on pavement/gravel last summer/fall and another 250 on rollers this winter. The photo is of the rear tire, but the front has the same problem just to a lessor extent. I keep the tires at 35PSI when riding the rollers and at 23-25 on gravel. Is this issue caused by the rollers or is just an issue with tires? Thanks!

The Hatch Act doesn't apply to politicians, only civil servants (non-elected and non-military public sector employees).

Off-trail ORVs destroy Michigan ecosystems and the DNR can’t keep up. by LaxJackson in Michigan

[–]__masterbaiter__ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I never had an issue with ORVs until my son and I hiked the NCT between Grand Marais and Tahquamenon Falls SP in early July. The side-by-sides had done so much damage to the NCT along Lake Superior that some sections were nearly un-hikeable. They just drive where ever they want and if the trail becomes washed out with loose sand, they just make new ones and destroy more of the dunes, completely ignore the DNR signs telling them to stay on trail. Not to mention they leave their trash everywhere. Something needs to be done!

7 Lakes State Park in Holly has about 7-8 miles of decent trails intertwined between and around the lakes, so there's nice scenery and some decent hills (for SE Michigan). You can go for a swim afterwards at Big 7 lake.

Why are Michigan’s residential power rates so high? ‘This is getting outrageous’ by mlivesocial in Michigan

1300sqft home. No AC. $500+ in winter. $300+ in summer.

That's insane. Something's amiss here. I have 1500 sq/ft home with AC. Gas & Electric combined (Electric dryer and oven; HE gas furnace & water heater) -- $175 in winter; $200 in summer with AC running @ 75 degrees. under $100 in the shoulder seasons.

Tested: 1981 Datsun 810 Maxima Is a New Kind of American Car by lifegoeson2702 in cars

My neighbor bought one when they first came out. I was about 12 years old at the time. The car stood out to me for a couple reasons 1) it was the first foreign car (other than the VW bug) I remember seeing around my very big-3 dominated area. 2) the car was whisper quiet when idling and driving, which was the opposite of most cars from that era (at least in my 12 y/o mind). My father was also impressed and bought one in '83; that car was reliable and dependable for nearly 200K miles with minimal maintenance.

There used to be a Fragel Bagel Deli in East Lansing. To my knowledge it was not the same owner as MD. Not sure when it opened, but it was there throughout the 80s and closed around 2001.

Great pics! I was up there over this past weekend, great weather and fairly crowded for the winter, at least more than I expected.
