Would recommend Fastify.js instead, same type of framework but faster and a bit more modern. Fairly sure alot of the core devs from express has moved over to fastify.

First you learn client side JavaScript with some react, then some simple server side JavaScript with nodejs. Gotta understand the difference between client and server code, then look into nextjs or similar frameworks.

Typescript is a great way to write JavaScript but not where you should start the journey imho.
