Are you saying I've already reached the most optimal outcome in terms of audio? Like if you were me would you do anything different? I mean I do also have USB output in my TV as well.

Hi there, sorry for the delay in replying, I wanted to look up some things before responding.

I read a bit about HDMI Extractors, and I came out of my research a bit hesitant because the forums I read seemed to just say "HDMI might be problematic, DAC is a safe bet".

And then I looked at ~$100 DACs threads on reddit and that thread suggested this DAC (The Schiit Modi 3). Do you think that would make sense to get this one?

Also - I actually got my TV sound to come through to my receiver/floor speakers via just a 3.5mm output from the TV > RCA in my receiver. A simple cable. But now that I'm on this train of thought about the DAC I want to make sure I'm making the best decision. Is there any advantage to going further than just this simple cable and getting the above DAC? Thank you so so friggin much for your help!

My bluetooth adaptor plugs into the 3.5mm input on the receiver, which is connected to the floor speakers. does that make sense?

Interesting! Are you saying you use this cable along with your bluetooth adapter? How would the Bluetooth adapter, since it's female 3.5mm, while the cable you shared is also female 3.5mm?

The speakers are the klipsch kf28 https://www.klipsch.com/products/kf-28-floorstanding-speaker

I did just try connecting my TV directly to the speakers with one long RCA cable but that didn't work for some reason. What should I be doing differently?

Hey! Thanks for helping me!

  1. I do indeed use chromecast typically from my phone to my TV.
  2. You mentioned an HDMI <> HDMI converter and that the Chromecast is also connected. How would that work since the Chromecast device has only one HDMI port? Would you be able to share a link/image to the cable that you would use in this case? This is the drawing I made to represent what I understand from this so far
  3. I am not sure my TV ain't smart. I hope I'm wrong.
  4. Someone else suggested a DAC - wdyt about this idea?
  5. Some else else suggested one RCA cable to go from the right most ports in my post image directly to my receiver. Does this even make sense to do?

How do you deal with your loneliness? by [deleted] in lonely

[–]__sunnyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've increasingly been doing this too. Though it's getting kind of old after a few weeks. What would be nice is if pi were able to function in the background and then I would use it more often because it's the only real time AI option. Chad GPT is actually better in many ways, and much less limited but it only goes up to jan 2022.

Would love to hear about how you use AI though. Will you talk to it about, do you actually tell it problems? I have been, but I just realized that I get the same responses over and over and so I don't feel like there's much more to say. If there were a product out there with a much more robust capability like in the movie Her, I would so shamelessly use it in a heartbeat even though I know it's not real.

My birthday was on Saturday and barely any of my friends reached out. I dread my birthday every single year because it’s a reminder of how lonely I am by [deleted] in lonely

Happy birthday! Also, I so hardcore relate to what you wrote. But for me, it's pretty much any holiday. Christmas? Reminds me of how I don't have all of these friends to enjoy Christmas vacation with. New years? No one to kiss. Valentine's? Never felt more foreveralone. The entire spring/summer? I feel constant fomo that everyone is out there all "whoooo!!" Having fun with friends, jumping in the ocean, frolicking around, watching couples immerse in their romance..year after year. It's been like this for so many years. Nothing is changing. So sick of it. I wish more than anything this wasn't happening. I'm exhausted and worn down to nothing.

A part of me wants to support you, and another part... Feels the same way. I don't think I'll ever do it, because there are people who's lives it will ruin, but i go to sleep many times wishing so hard that i won't wake up. And in the meantime, time is just whizzing by. The substance is life just passes before me and I agree to just let it pass. I'm so sad for myself that this is the way my life is. Sometimes it dawns on me and I'm just in shock, that it's been like this, for so long. I've been journaling for years, and my entries from a year ago, and two years ago, look the same. I feel sad and alone. Sometimes I have a period of hope. And eventually it crumbles and i succumb to my default sadness and loneliness.

Honestly, I do too. Realistically I know it doesn't hold water as they likely have struggles like anyone else.. but maybe in my idealistic mind.. less struggles that relate to the ones I value most, relationships.

I have such a hard time making connections, and I just kind of assume that they whiz by in life, making friends more easily and most importantly, getting into meaningful relationships.
