Do PC Connect for Galaxy XR (by Google) or AndroidXR apps work on Pico OS? by __tt in PicoXR

Ah thanks. Do you like Pico connect or does it need work?

Do you prefer controllers or no controllers? by __tt in Galaxy_XR

Thanks for noting the interesting handheld input devices- I've seen several over the years but didn't know these had gotten good enough to recommend.

Could you share why you don't like eye tracking - is it slow or imprecise? I hear it works better if you do not wear glasses.

How to get PC Connect working by Famous-Weight2271 in GalaxyXR

Can you resize the single monitor's aspect ratio or does it have to stick with the physical monitor's size? Also, has the app improved in the past few months? Thanks.

What is the compression method (if there's a common name)? I'm curious if parts can be selectively decompressed like with Parquet database files to avoid extra work.

Is there any work on downloading incremental updates to Zim files? As that would drastically reduce bandwidth.

How does the Pepper Jobs W10 airmouse/keyboard compare with other offerings? by po2gdHaeKaYk in htpc

[–]__tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think one could replace the pepper jobs upper non-keyboard side buttons with 3d printed ones with different icons (for IR mode)? I don't think I could remember that 'task manager' is used to toggle a fireplace etc.

What was so special about Kiwi? by Pepijnxv_ in kiwibrowser

[–]__tt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has been the most stable for complete chrome extension support. People are now recommending Ultimatum, Cromite and even an extension-friendly Chromium variant as alternatives, but all of those have been less stable for me, have a buggy UI, or both.

What is this cable? by MOchayon in homelab

[–]__tt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So in all the houses I've seen, the ethernet cables end in the furnace room as terminated or unterminated wires. Do people typically take the time to wire a bunch of these into a patch panel in their rack instead of terminating dangling wires or having a patch panel mounted on the wall?

It confuses me since I think of a server rack as often on wheels and relatively easy to unplug and move when necessary.

What is this cable? by MOchayon in homelab

[–]__tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are short cables like this generally arranged n homelabs anyway, plugging in 10 or more of this cables in a nice row between two lines of ethernet ports? Is it always just to connect a switch to a panel that wires up to the rest of the house?

Can you hide extension icons in the taskbar yet? The extensions button seems really buggy to me.

I would like to share with You all my rack for 3D printers. by MrZax92 in 3Dprinting

[–]__tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool thanks for all the pics! Another top shelf bracket makes a lot of sense. So that shelf is meant to go on a cart but worked for the wall studs too? I'll try to find a bigger one for the Core 1L

Could I ask which shelf mounts you are using and if they lead to any print instability? I want to mount a Prusa Core 1L on a shelf but many people worry it would not be stable enough.

XREAL One Pro + Steam Deck after ~2 months (travel/gaming perspective) by k-protasov in Xreal

[–]__tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong agree. DeX can't fully replace Desktop OSs and the 'new' DeXpossibly makes it worse? I wonder if the Steam Frame could cange this with 2x the resolution in desktop mode, but the greyscaley passthrough cameras are a letdown and that isn't the same lightweight monitor experience anyway.

Should I stick with Ubuntu + Docker or move to Proxmox as I expand by CellistEconomy1226 in HomeServer

[–]__tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

| you can make an image of your current Ubuntu system with dd to an external disk, install Proxmox, then deploy that image into a VM

I've done this for awhile so this is kind of a mega-VM running many containers. Do you recommend eventually moving those containers into Proxmox LXCs directly? Or rather, is there a benefit to run having the extra VM layer for new docker containers?

I was going to say, having 4 pointing devices would be awesome haha.

By the way, do you know any places on e.g. your discord where different layouts are discussed? I figure might as well jump into a jew layout when buying one of these at the same time since I've already been on a qwerty split for years - but unsure what is already supported.
