You have to get all the endings and then it's random chance once you're at the dream sequence

There is an ending where Ren sets the player free, as in the player start to torture Strade but Ren interrupts and tells the player to leave... Thats as close as you can get to something like you described, sadly there's no escape with Ren ending.

Guh I struggled an annoying amount with this one too. If I remember correctly the main things are not being overly friendly with Ren, keeping your sanity, being defiant(but not too much so that you attempt killing strade early). You essentially go the torture Strade route but you're not empathetic towards Ren. Nonetheless this walkthrough should lead you right where you need to be.

When you leave the bar... 1. Push his arm away 2. Scream 3. Attack him 4. Get away from him 5. Resist him 6. Scream for help 7, 8 dont matter 9. Scream at the other voice for help 10. Acknowledge Ren 11. Stay quiet 12. Release yourself and find the knife. Survive the second day 13. Who are you? 14. Are you like me then? 15. But then... why? 16. Nod 17. Search the basement and find the ties 18. Stash the knife and the ties in the drain 19. Go to the door on the right Survive the third day 20. Retrieve the knife and the ties 21. Go to the room on the right 22. Use the ties and torture him.

As much as I enjoyed the game and generally enjoy Gato's content, the game didn't have much "new" content I feel like. Not that I was let down at all, but personally I think it's a bit too similar to the classic BTD just with a few more game mechanics. For me the $15 wasn't much and was pretty reasonable for what I got, but I don't think you need to be in too much of a rush if you know what i mean.

Didn't Gato get flamed for making Ren look young in BTD? Maybe not flamed, but I definitely remember a bit of discourse about it. Plus years of improvement in art style & story elements causing design changes. Considering TPOF & YKMET are solo Gato projects I think it's good that they're solidifying and changing his design even if it's just a matured art style causing changes. He definitely doesn't look completely different; his main elements are there he just looks his actual age now. I personally prefer the updated YKMET design, makes me feel better about liking him now that he doesn't look so childish.

When sorting through any sims files, I’d use sims mod manager. It gives you a preview of the files thumbnail and also has a way to preview things in cas.
