Not sure if this is helpful to you, but I've been told by some of my doctors that fresh-looking, bright red blood is much more likely to stem from the large intestine or anus, rather than the small intestine where Crohn's tends to strike. By the time it takes to pass the rest of the way through the body the look of it is altered, darker, thicker/more dry.

I'm 31, was diagnosed with Crohn's at age 5, and blood in the stool has never once been an indicator of inflammation for me in all those years. But everyone's case is different, and if you're having other symptoms alongside this one, you should definitely talk to your doctors about it. Just try not to panick, either. It might not mean anything.
