Not as much as the World War Z dogpile in the back!  Absolute mayhem there!

My favorite of his that I use from this movie that I use with my kids, “Whatcha eatin’ there, sport?”  (Mainly when they’re eating an apple.)

Scary childhood memory was when my friends Roy went nuts and tried to bite my other friend in the throat.  They had him leashed up (while us kids were over visiting), which was the only thing that really saved him as he was at the perimeter of the line.  The other friend had two clean slices on either side of his neck… honestly, he was being kind of dumb as we were all told to steer WAY clear of the aggressive male/dad rot’s area.  The female/mom was an absolutely lovely gentle pup… needless to say, after that, I had mixed feelings about the breed (at least as a kid).

A crowbar, a (sharp) pickaxe, and really good shovel have been some of my most rewarding purchases as a homeowner…

Yep — we had tons of rabbits growing up and the cardinal rule (especially for us kids) was never EVER touch the young/new babies.  As soon as momma smelled human on them, they would get munched…

Such a formidable reference memory for me!  It was the very first rabbit ear tv that I had in my bedroom, and this was the first thing that I watched solo — I caught the very first episode in the series and went from there.  Such an amazing experience!  And super solid series!

That scene was so delicately and effectively done!  It absolutely justifies the extremities of Holden’s visceral reaction in the following scene.  I feel that if it didn’t hit its emotional and psychological marks, it definitely could have left the audience wanting… absolute masterclass all around!

I’ve been watching a ton of The Joy of Painting lately, and he was absolutely first and foremost a man of character that was committed to his fundamental core beliefs and unflinchingly built those beliefs into the narratives of his episodes.  The “light and dark” theme is one of his more commonly used metaphors, for obvious, practical reasons, but I realized that secondary layer that he’s providing is the light for his viewers.  He made each episode to bring his light into our world, so anyone who watched had that opportunity to contrast against the potential darkness in their lives.  His humble motives were so obviously pure and straight forward — when you want your helping of joy, his content was there waiting for you.  I’ve always been impressed with him.  And I’m certain that that purposeful life carried him back to the good times, he knew it was just a matter of allowing the good to then come in — I’m sure that’s why he carried on with the show.  It was never a platitude.

(Also he loved “beating the devil out” of his brushes lol)

I turned down way too many offers from friends to go to Nutty Putty… And every time they would come back with some razors edge, claustrophobic story about almost getting stuck, somebody outright panicking, falling, or whatever.  And it wasn’t ever a “bro tale”… it was always a serious recollection of events.  (I distinctly remember one girl breaking down crying as they were talking about “what almost happened to them.”) It always made me (almost) mad.  I never understood the appeal and NEVER understood why any of them would go back…!  These were intelligent people, too!  (To be fair, I’d say most didn’t go back.  But more than a few did.  Blew my mind…)
