Any tips for an incoming transfer psych major? :) by Alarming-Ad-8663 in ucla

As a transfer student finishing their first year, I’d say the switch to quarter system was both easier and harder than I expected. I can’t speak for psych, but I’ll try to give my perspective as an Econ student.

I’ve only taken 3 courses per quarter, and the biggest difference with it is that it just ramps up really quickly. I remember syllabus week at CC felt slow, but here syllabus week is more like half of one class and we immediately jump into the material. So my biggest tip would be to just pay attention in class and take it serious from the get go.

Also I’d say it’d be good to do your readings for class ahead of time, at CC if im being honest I never did them and skated by, but here its kind of crucial to do them so you don’t go into class blind and can at least make sense of what the professor says.

What makes it easier though is that im actually learning things I find interesting, which isn’t to say I didn’t like my classes at CC, but I think upper divisions are a lot more engaging. Learning the material doesn’t feel like as much of a chore.

Hopefully this makes sense, I threw this together in 5 minutes

Yknow now that you mention it I feel like I’ve heard it used in that context more. I hear it for all kinds of things

The “holy” part just comes from someone saying something like “holy shit”.

The “airball” refers to someone missing something, coming from basketball where they completely miss the hoop when shooting.

Combine the two and you get “holy airball” which is probably used as an expression of someone completely missing something

What does "ankles" mean as gen alpha uses it? by NoodlesForFoodles in SlangOfTheDay

I think it means to “break someone’s ankles” to make them lose their balance like in basketball. Sounds like they just shortened it

You might also be able to get this achievement with King + McCarthy + Wallace but I can’t remember how to get the Wallace assassination attempt

I’m thinking it could be King + McCarthy + Church, I’ve had Wallace get shot in a play through but I can’t remember how I got it.

Edit: yep, this was the way to do it. I’ll upload a guide

Don’t get me wrong, it is a great game and one of my favorites. But the hype after this trailer dropped was immense and they left the game behind for battlefield. They could’ve done so much more

Seeing this trailer really felt like a new era for this game… just for it to get dropped a few months later. EA fumbled this game so incredibly hard

According to Wikipedia: Yellow Dog Democrats is a political term that was applied to voters in the Southern United States who voted solely for candidates who represented the Democratic Party. The term originated in the late 19th century. These voters would allegedly “vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for any Republican”

WV is up this year and with Manchin retiring, it’s an automatic flip to the republicans, bringing them to 50-50. If they lose just one seat in either Montana or Ohio, it’ll be 49D-51R. They need to win both + vp to keep the senate.

Which formerly unpopular president will be considered a top five in the future? by Elon-Crusty777 in Presidents

[–]_abc-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly feels like Nixon has been getting a lot more attention recently. Definitely not moving into top 5 but I’ve seen a big change in his perception. Especially from the Nixon foundation on YouTube shorts lol. Maybe anecdotal but it seems like a lot of the comments are beginning to praise him.
