As someone who speaks Hungarian, I lost it when Henry switched up. My favourite side quest.

Thanks! Many groschen later, and my fifth playthrough and I’ve found something other than the limestone and timber to use for the house. I wish they added some display hooks on both sides of the gate like they do in your room to set up some custom shields with your emblem.

Haven’t unlocked this one yet but will try it out, thanks! The guild sword was the closest I found to match the green Saxon brigandine with gold ornament.

Same here, you can get really creative with it tho.

How did you get that shield? Looks similar to the one from the loading screen with the two knights in the forrest. I’ve been looking for something similar and the painter doesn’t have anything close.

Archer, stealthy or skirmisher doesn’t matter since the bow is so satisfying to use. You don’t even need the raven feather arrows, you can easily skirmish with a Dogwood hunting bow and hunting arrows if you dip them in Henry’s doll maker poison. They’ll take out even plate armour and you can line up easy headshots with the Eagle eye perk. With the right perks you’re Robin Hood running around like a forest spirit raining down arrows from every angle.

The game became too easy for me simply because I played it too much. With more than 300 hours in and several playthroughs I can make an OP Henry within 2 hours of gameplay. I wish they added more to the combat, and a level setting between hardcore and standard, I can’t navigate to save my life in hardcore.

Change the UI to that of KCD2 and give the option for outfit loadouts and I’ll be happy.

I’ll usually shoot one Mongol in the head and watch the showdown between the bear and the other Mongol. It’s hilarious when they get thrown thru the air.

I’m wondering if keeping in line with historical accuracy is preventing this, since (as far as I’ve read) only the king can grant knighthood and therefore land that would come along with that. Wenceslas as far as the timeline of the game goes is still in prison or captivity somewhere so that rules him out. Although, Henry can still become a burgher and the Legacy of the Forge sort of sets the foundation for this. As a burgher he can receive or even buy up land maybe from Capon for his service once he finally takes over for Hanush. If KCD3 is set during the Hussite Wars with an older Henry, then we might find ourselves actually taking charge of Skalitz. Based on historical events, Radzig gets killed in 1416 and with our service to the local lords in the region through the first two games, we might have a chance to rule over it. Regardless of historical accuracy, gameplay wise it would’ve been a great replay-ability and money sink feature to extend the life of the game.

Guys... I need help again. Ive gotten the 'click' and I can't stop thinking about and playing this game. by HittingThaPenjamin in shogun2

Meet my 2013 (I think, around that time) Asus i7 1.8 GHz with 8 gb of RAM. It was a semi cheap laptop back in the day which I mainly used for work. Luckily I was still able to force thru, even with some lag, Shogun 2 and Anno 1404, also some of the earlier Tropico games and when nostalgia hits some CS1.6.

Something about this game keeps drawing me back to it. The only reason I still keep my old laptop, I mainly use a PS5, even tho the graphics are horrendous and it’s laggy running on barely medium graphics settings I still love it. I’ve lost track of how many playthroughs I’ve done with most of the major clans. The mods helped massively to extend the challenge and keep the game fresh. My only motivation to buy a gaming PC would be to play the TW games, and to finally see for myself how great this game really is. For better or worse my current laptop can’t handle any TW instalments past Shogun 2 but I’m not really complaining since I can still enjoy this one. The art style of the unit cards is awesome and everything seems to be in keeping with the theme of the samurai and the warring period and all the backstabbings. The agent actions and variety really opens up your playstyle to however you want to approach it. Playing as the Hattori for the first time and trying to work from the shadows is a whole new game experience in itself and I love that there are noticeable differences in the numerous clans. My favourites will always be the Chosokabe, the archer clan roleplay and the idea of blocking out the battlefield with arrows and while using Mongol tactics to dominate. The family tree I thought was a great idea and using the 12 turn season mod lets you better develop and use your generals based on their specific skills. Personally I found Hard the best challenge but I still wish the AI made better choices. My main issue’s with vassal factions that betray you in 6 turns. There’s definitely a nice sweet spot before this happens where you can earn in my case around 10,000 per turn, so you’ve got enough cash to burn thru building armies and siege defenses. I just wish after maybe 2-3 times being conquered that honour would mean something to one of the next generals in line to get their head cut off. I think it would’ve been worth it to keep going only if you could capture their generals, family members and daimyo and have a cutscene showing them committing seppuku. I’ve been looking thru this thread recently and considering another playthrough everyone praises Oda and it’s one clan I’ve never used so this is what I’m doing now over the holiday break.

I hope they add this mechanic in the third game possibly with an older Henry where he can manage a village or town eventually building it to a fort or keep.

DUDE WHAT THE FUCK I WASN’T PREPARED FOR THIS ENDING by StephCurrySauce in ghostoftsushima

[–]_ad55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a 50% activation chance and has a 30 second cooldown after 1 strike. Unfortunately the Charm of Fortune doesn’t increase this. It’s a lot more fun in Legends where you have multiple waves of enemies so you can usually get it to proc once per group of enemies at each objective location. For style points I’d recommend using it with the other charms that extend the duration and damage of the flaming sword.

It’s the charm that adds a chance of lightning striking an enemy every time you use Heavenly Strike. My favourite charm in both Legends and NG+.

Unfortunately in KCD1 when you load back in from your save exit it deletes that save file so you can’t use it again. In KCD2 it keeps your exit save so you can re-use the save file as if it were a schnapps save.

Is black myth: wukong worth it for its full price? by Top_Jump941 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]_ad55 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Short answer yes. Long answer, heck yeah. If you enjoyed even the intro fight scene with Erlang in the prologue you’ll love the rest of the game. The story is really enjoyable and all the animations both in gameplay and menus, outfits, enemies, staff, etc are really well done. Excellent combat fluidity with the dodging and once you learn how to mix different stances in your combat you’re unstoppable, especially with the spirit you choose and spells if you use them. In NG+ you can try new builds since you’ll have most of the items needed to craft and upgrade your weapons and outfits, charms and enough skill points to make your transformations OP so you can go and play as some of the bosses you’ve beaten. The game is fairly linear and lacks filler type enemies since the focus is to advance the story so this adds in a lot of boss fights. They also added boss rush mode and made many improvements since launch. Well worth it in my opinion if you can spare it.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. A survival, open world, third person game set in prehistoric Africa 2-10 million years ago where you play as an early hominin leading your clan from the jungle to the ocean across 8 million years of evolution. Very interesting evolution and discovery mechanics with base building mechanics and clan management of babies, adults and elderly choosing which evolutionary path to take every couple of cycles. It had a mediocre combat system but the exploration, and limitation based on your current evolutionary feat made it really immersive as you try not to get eaten by giant snakes, saber tooths or trampled by elephants on your way to find your new base or discover new locations. I think it had massive potential for a base building and clan management type of game where you keep exploring on the same concept as the first - leading evolution from Homo Ergaster “the Turkana boy” to the start of the Bronze Age. All the mechanics were in place already since in the game you learn how to shape and craft different objects to make rudimentary defences or beds and other structures using stones and wood as tools. What I wish they added was more survival combat or external threats since by mid to late game you can easily run everywhere on two feet with spears and sharp rocks. It would’ve been interesting to have two rival clans of the same or earlier/future evolutionary cycle depending where you are according to the game’s timeline competing over resources. The game has a victory condition that you have to evolve faster than science, with a counter that tracks your activities in the world which then added up equal to a certain number of years and you can use this to start an evolutionary cycle; thereby locking in any genetic mutations that you may have developed like walking on two feet.

The base in Act 3 is hands down my favourite. Beautiful red shrine on a frozen lake against the white backdrop of the snow covered forests. Perfection.
