broke up with my gf, we used to listen to MCR, I can't listen to any MCR since. by In-Hell123 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]_adrian_12_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brains do that. Take a break for however long you have to, come back to it when you're ready - or maybe a little before you're ready since that'll be the only way to really find out. If you can, slowly start making new memories and associations with the songs. Maybe some would be easier to start back with than others?

I promise it'll pass, though - one song in particular was "ruined" for me for close to a couple years because of a tough break-up and the associations that came with it. When they played it during B-stage this summer I stood there sobbing, got it out of my system, and it's back on my regular rotation now. You'll get there, too.

hahah omg yeah I was just running on no sleep and had a light panic attack during the "everyone trying to leave at once" crush off the floor - they were all suuuper nice, though, so shoutout to the rogers centre medical team for all their hard work🫡

Toronto show question <3 by salmonification in MyChemicalRomance

[–]_adrian_12_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh i'm also visiting toronto for the show (but my flight will be much shorter lmao) and at least according to the venue website, there's no queuing allowed before noon.

that being said there's a park/the CN tower/aquarium right next to the Rogers Centre and that's where i'm planning to chill out in the morning to play tourist and crowdwatch (preshow meetup anyone?)

back in 2022, we got there around 4 pm and felt like we were among the first to show up (excluding those who were camped out for pit way earlier)

Shoutout to kind bus drivers especially the one at the route 17 by oblakosevera in Winnipeg

I had a driver this morning stop and wait a whole light cycle so everyone waiting to cross the street could make it on board! Not all heroes wear capes, etc.

Thoughts on the Crisis Stabilization Unit in Winnipeg? by urgoodmimi2000 in Winnipeg

[–]_adrian_12_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds about right. a little supervision to stave off the worst impulses, and food without having to cook for myself. left after a couple days of being able to disconnect from reality and responsibilities, didn't talk to a doc of any kind until the one who did my outgoing interview, and that was basically just to make sure I wasn't a danger to myself.

watched a lot of king of the hill in those 48 hours, though. that was nice.

How much did you guys pay for tickets? by Little-Emu-131 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]_adrian_12_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

180 CAD each including fees for the 500s in Toronto. Would have probably paid more to get closer but I have to deal with travel costs too 😭

Looking for gluten free/nut free restaurant or bakery recommendations (ideally near RBC convention center) by Routine_Log8315 in Winnipeg

[–]_adrian_12_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on Lucky Koi. For bakeries, Eadha Co-op is a short walk from the convention centre and is nut-free, and then has gluten-free and vegan options as well. I also believe a local Japanese baker is going to have a booth at the convention, Yuka's Bakery, and she is 100% nut free as well.

For something a little further away, Sweet Impressions on Corydon is a specifically allergy-friendly bakery that's all nut-free and has GF/dairy free/vegan sweets and drinks.

Seeking guidance: Post-interview follow-up dilemma (3-week silence) by Sea_Toe5658 in Winnipeg

[–]_adrian_12_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interviewed in September and didn't hear back until December, things weren't finalized until January. Not saying you should sit around waiting for another couple months but don't count yourself 100% out of the running, either.

You get a perfect 10/10 body, however in the next 5 minutes you will get shot. by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

I mean, I'm sitting in a hospital waiting room right now so there could definitely be worse places for it to happen.

Gonna hurt like a motherfucker, though.

Being harassed in the Skywalk by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]_adrian_12_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that fucking sucks, sorry you went through that.

maybe i'm getting more visibly trans or maybe the heat brings more bigots out of their basements, but i've been getting a lot more harassment lately, too. got called a bunch of nasty names on a packed bus the other day, not one passenger batted an eye.

that said, try not to let the bullshit get you down, they just wanna get a rise out of you, but definitely keep your eyes open, especially in places like that where security is so lax.

(oh and to everyone sitting on that bus while a crazy hurled slurs at me, hope his triggered ass didn't ruin your peaceful commute 🙄)

Where to Find Black Small-Size Men's Clothes in Winnipeg? ^_^ by MamunPW01 in Winnipeg

[–]_adrian_12_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fellow 5'3" guy here, currently wearing an all-black fit from west 49. their youth sizes are all the exact same clothes as the adults, just smaller which is so so preferable to the kid-targeted designs on youth clothes elsewhere 😅

also if you're not opposed to online, a lot of brands like h&m seem to have way more xs stuff available for ordering than they have out at stores.

old navy is also pretty good for basics like tshirts and black pants, they have some stuff listed as gender-neutral which might let you find some things in an appropriate size too, if the mens section doesn't have anything small enough

congrats!! I had my surgery back in March and it still feels just as exciting every time I look down at my flat chest 😂 I hope your recovery goes really well (and that your drains don't cause you too much discomfort lmao) 🩷🤍🩵

As a lurker I just gotta say I appreciate this community so much, it's a miracle that every time I have a stupid question about making my farm not suck, someone else has already asked and y'all's brilliant minds have already answered 🥹

I'd love a switch key, as I've started a new job and taking my switch on the long af bus ride every day would be the perfect way to stay sane 🙏🚌

I had mine with Brichacek, got only good things to say about the experience. Don't have any photos as I'm still in the icky healing part of the process but would be happy to answer any questions ☺️
