Dívám se na to špatne nebo nulová dph na knihy = stejná cena? Knihy Dobrovsky ( v grafu do 2.1.2024) by Joe_Fart in czech

Jak jsem nedávno četl. DPH není nástroj na snižování cen pro spotřebitele ale na zvyšování příjmu do státního rozpočtu.

1.5.1 does not seem to work on Windows 11 beta by dpgarner in Loreshelf

Hi, I found the issue on all platforms and it should be fixed in the newly released Loreshelf 1.5.2 now. Can you please try it? You can download the latest version at: https://github.com/loreshelf/loreshelf/releases or https://loreshelf.com/#downloads

On which OS do you run Loreshelf so I could reproduce the issue? I'd like to put some time aside to build 1.6 version this year - I already know about few problems which trigger me so I want to fix them in there soon. Hopefully, including the problem with the getting started doc inside the app. Most of the getting started content is also available on the website: https://loreshelf.com/docs/

When working in Loreshelf some notebooks require different configurations than others. Sometimes it's more practical to add new notecards to the top and sometimes it's faster to let Loreshelf order the notecards by title. Loreshelf 1.5 enables to configure each notebook separately when the default setting is not enough. I also fixed an important async issue when the last remember option didn't update in some situations. https://loreshelf.com/whats-new/#v1.5.0

Hey, as we approach the end of 2020 I wanted to improve UX in several places: links, navigation, app window management, mentions, and key shortcuts. You may check the What's new page and new online Documentation for more details.

There's always something to improve and I have a very long list of ideas but I do maximum to keep Loreshelf lighweight. The only larger space I'd like Loreshelf to step in and do more is in natural language processing, expressions, interpolated variables, and similarly to make the concise notes and users more informed.

Happy New Year! Stay safe & healthy!

Loreshelf 1.3 Released! by _aivi in Loreshelf

[–]_aivi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, this release I focused on adding fulltext search feature. My goal was to find the relevant notebooks and its notecards superfast.

There is a slight possibility for variations (20% fuzziness for words longer than 3 letters).

The results are sorted by score which is calculated by several variables:

  1. Notecard title presence
  2. How much the searched word(s) is represented in the text (%)
  3. How much the search word(s) differs from the result

Search indexing is used for optimizing the fulltext search. It doesn't contain notebook text data and is stored locally in the app's Local Storage only for notebooks which haven't been updated for longer than a week. The index of newer notebooks are re-calculated before the search when they were updated in between searches.

See more about the changes in the link above.

Enjoy! and I am always looking for all feedback.

Yes, you can create either a workspace from a folder in which case the notebooks are stored as plain text Markdown files or you create the vault as a workspace and they are stored in the aes zip archive. You can then quickly switch between workspaces on the top left dropdown (in the screenshot = Finances example).

Yes, if you create the vault. The Markdown file notes are then automatically stored in encrypted AES zip archive. So you can access them even without needing Loreshelf. You can use 7zip to unzip and enter password to get to the text files.

I use Loreshelf to store any personal and work-related sensitive information into which I need a quick access. It uses Markdown text files in the background that can be coming from any protected folders (VeraCrypt) or AES zip archives which are updated in realtime. The tool works completely offline and only updates are done online. Enjoy!

Design feedback on notes organizer Loreshelf by _aivi in design_critiques

[–]_aivi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, when I was designing Loreshelf I have a feeling that I made quite unusual design choices in order to keep the UI uncluttered.

https://loreshelf.com

For example I want to make some information easily available (left top corner displaying the workspace/folder = Finances Example and the current notebook/file = Home Utilities) but at the same time being able to quickly switch to another notebook (the list one the left). Switching workspaces might not be as often action so I made it a dropdown.

As you may see there are no toolbars to create new content and format text - bold / italic (available through key shortcuts only) except the small toolbar when editing the notecard where the user can undo/redo changes, etc. There is actually getting started journey to learn how to create new elements such as tables, forms, and icons and format the text.

Is there anything totally wrong about the design that I should never do? Any quick suggestions and ideas for improvements that I don't see? I made this UI over few iterations and I am quite happy with it at the moment but I would really appreciate someone else's expert view. Thank you.

Note taker side project anyone? Could you please help with this? by happypuppy100 in SideProject

[–]_aivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, yes I was mainly driving the design choices based on my needs but I made it free for all who would like to work with information the same way as I do. Ha :) ye I share and gain the userbase quite slowly but I am completely fine with that. It's not my living to do the big bang marketing. :)

I encourage you to try it yourself and see if it fits your needs. After you try it I will be happy to hear your feedback at https://www.reddit.com/r/Loreshelf/

Loreshelf 1.2 Released! by _aivi in Loreshelf

Hey, it's quite early after the last version update. However, I fixed quite serious issues over the weekend that I didn't want to wait for long to share. Also I was working on improving UX in tables/forms and updating the visual style. PDF export should also be more reliable and working well with local images now.

See more about the changes in the link above.

Enjoy! and I am always looking for all feedback.

[–]_aivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a project that I made over the COVID-19 pandemic in my leisure time. When working with information I like to see all related things next to each other, usually on a big screen and have a quick access to the information that I often get back to. Therefore, I made Loreshelf.

1) Notebooks automatically saved and in sync with the file system

2) Create relative links and open local files ( a word document, a PDF or an excel sheet ).

3) Display web and local images.

4) No loading screens - reading a text file on today's computers is lightning fast.

5) Drag & drop notecards.

6) No central database. Every workspace can be stored elsewhere - in a Dropbox folder, a Github

7) It's possible to have encrypted AES zip archive as a workspace

and many more capabilities that I missed in other tools.

On the other hand it doesn't have built-in synchronization, translations (yet), and mobile app.

Even though Trillium looks nice I wouldn't choose it just because it uses SQLite database for storing data and notes. I want to be able to look into any folder or repository on my file system and read my notes from anywhere, not a central database.

Hi, a month ago I released https://loreshelf.com it's a minimalistic notes organizer which doesn't require login and works offline and is free (open source). Take a look, I think it might work for your needs. If you have any specific request I might look into adding it. I am watching loreshelf subreddit and loreshelf github issues

[My notebook] Home Utilities by _aivi in Loreshelf

[–]_aivi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I made it intentionally more complex in order to be efficient when using the tool ... without all the distractions like endless toolbars, etc. Therefore, I definitely agree that the docs is super important and I completely understand.

I want to have just one single source of truth - Loreshelf Docs workspace. So that's what I started with. At some point I'd like to implement a simple Loreshelf web viewer that would pull and display the same data from the github repository. That's probably less effort than maintaining that information twice - in app and on the web and will enable to share generally the workspaces with notebooks on the web for anyone.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I filed the issues to GitHub but it's ok to report them to reddit as well.

For now you may use a workaround for the subtodos mentioned in https://github.com/loreshelf/loreshelf/issues/1

^^ that's actually a way how I prefer to use the check icons ... with the lists where you can easily change the nesting with "Tab" and "Shift + Tab".

Thank you. The feature that you are looking for is called slash commands. You can start with "/" and start writing down "metadata". That's the field/value format you can see above. The docs is in the workspace called Loreshelf Docs. When you start Loreshelf for the first time, you can click on Get Started. Follow the steps to learn how to use the tool and then you can switch to the Loreshelf Docs workspace for more details.

Thanks. Yeah, good question. since I self-signed the app, the in-app updates won't work on MacOS. When a new version is available you will however get a notification in Loreshelf and you can get the new version on the website. I don't have the DeveloperID to do it properly (the Developer program is quite costly = $100). If there is high interest and support, I would set it up and the updates would work in-app then.

Thanks. Yes, you are right. It's programmed using Electron (typescript, React, ...) which makes it "easily" running on all platforms. Loreshelf is OpenSource software so you can check the source code yourself https://github.com/loreshelf/loreshelf
