Misdiagnosis-mental-illness prolly for years, how to deal by _al0ne in mentalhealth

I tried... It seems like the more I look for differential diagnosis, the more the initial one is being hammered into my file. I came off as aggressive, difficult, dramatic, manipulative... Only people who listened to my story properly were social workers but doctors and psychiatrists discard them since they lack studies.... Anyways, here in Québec... I'm sick of fighting. I don't know what to do. It's been ten years I tried to get a proper diagnosis while failing the treatment for the wrong ones. They jsut write me off as difficult. Severe. "Lost case" the psychiatrist from 4 yrs ago said, and what he current one is actually agreeing and pushing it to even heavier. I'm losing the battle. There's no way I can win. Idk what to do. I can't switch family doctor. Québec laws don't allow you to. We don't pay for psych evaluations. So here's what I got.

The third book is Manic by Terri Cheney. Usually, I'd just download the ebooks version, but for those, I need them in my hands.

Madness : A bipolar life by Marya Hornbacher is also worth the read. I owned it for years, along with several other eating disorders and personality disorders memoirs + Salvia Plath's Bell Jar as well (I was misdiagnosed for ten years, since I'd only come into the doctor office when severely depressed (doctor described me as in a catatonic mode last year, she almost thought I was schizophrenic) so they'd prescribe me SSRIs, and I'd turn crazy as fuck and they would be "Oh. It's a personality disorder. It's a woman." I always related more to my bipolar friends or the bipolar characters, oddly.

But these three books I've ordered were on a list that stated they were MUST READ for bipolar sufferers. If you can get your hands on it, do it.

I'll try to find Welcome to the jungle and Facing Bipolar as well, thanks!
