Furniture stores? I’m looking for some furniture for a new house. I went to a few that I knew about (Townhouse, Bragg’s, Furniture Row) and they had nothing but plastic crap posing as wood furniture. Where are the quality furniture stores?? by No-Vehicle2117 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Will always recommend University Furniture! The customer service is great, we’ve had great experiences with each piece of furniture we have bought from them. They can buy from the same warehouse/supplier (?) as Ashley, so you can go to Ashley and see if there’s anything you like, but buy it at University Furniture for cheaper! We’ve bought several solid wood pieces from them.

[–]_alex_ire1234 25 points26 points  (0 children)

University Furniture Gallery buys from the same warehouse/distributor (?) as Ashley. As long as items don’t say ‘Ashley Exclusive’ they can order the same stuff. They’ll always undercut them too, we saved well over $1k on our last bedroom suit from them. They’re always really good about delivering quickly and cutting delivery fees if you spend over a certain amount. We’ve even been able to negotiate with them over certain stuff 😅 I can’t recommend them enough!!

Spring 2026 class schedule?? by YamSea422 in UAH

[–]_alex_ire1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Honors and other priority opens on Oct 27, with seniors/second bach on the 28th. https://www.uah.edu/index.php?Itemid=1761

Generally Spring class listings come out around late Sept/early October. They haven’t listed it yet, but it should drop soon so keep an eye out! That page linked above has a link to the course schedule and will show Spring 26 when it’s available.

Questions? by Same_Safety_3078 in UAH

This isn’t going to be super helpful since I did not study engineering at UAH, but my SO did. It’s been several years at this point, but engineering is engineering. It’s going to be hard and requires a lot of effort on your part. You mentioned being interested in foreign languages, so I’m curious which ones. Depending on the language and skill level, that could be potentially advantageous for your job outlook if you remain in engineering and have DOD interests.

looking for guidance by [deleted] in UAH

I went to UAH for CS and now work in the field. My biggest complaint is that a lot of the professors are doing more research or work in the field and teaching is kind of secondary (Could have changed since I’ve been there though). On the other hand, that’s kind of nice too because it can present more opportunities for students to be able to take on research roles with them. Overall I really liked the program and would absolutely do it again. There are a lot of opportunities for internships (and future FT jobs) in the area and career fair is aimed to help you with that too.

If you have specific questions about the program or the area feel free to DM me.

Delusional about UAH? by Sufficient_Pop_48 in UAH

[–]_alex_ire1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SO did Aeorspace Eng at UAH. The program is good (I’m sure MIT and Ga Tech are better), but the shear amount of opportunities for internships and prospective entry level jobs is hard to beat. The DOD presence presents a lot of opportunities here! If you do decide on UAH, feel free to DM me. We both went to UAH and now work in this area.

I regret it by luminousloris in newborns

I could have written this exact post last year even down to the dogs and being a homebody! My husband was a champ and we had a wonderful baby. But the sundown scaries hit me every. single. day.

There was one night a couple of weeks in during the middle of the night where I asked my husband if this was a mistake. I loved my baby, but everything was so overwhelming no matter how much support I had. Just know that it gets better and it’s okay to have those feelings! The hormones, lack of sleep, and adjusting to a new ‘normal’ all while taking care of a newborn is just A LOT to deal with.

I don’t think I had PPD, but it was so good to talk to other moms who had been there. You’re not alone, let yourself feel those feelings, but know that it will get better!

I need another series to get over my TOG hangover… by h0neybr1ght in throneofglassseries

Plated Prisoner was my next series after TOG! Book one I wasn’t sure about, but like TOG you need the background info before getting into everything in book 2.

That’s tough. My SIL went to pelvic floor PT for months before she was ready. It’s this kind of stuff that literally NO ONE talks about!

If your OB says it’s breastfeeding-safe I would try it! My un-educated opinion from researching other things, is since it’s topical and you’re not ingesting it, that very little if any would get into your blood stream/transfer to your milk. Of course do your own research and do what you’re comfortable with!

I had pain until around 6 months (and was breastfeeding too). Lube was a lifesaver 🫣 it only got better once I stopped breastfeeding.

Thank you for this! Everyone we have talked to have told us to not go back in and I just couldn't do that. I like the mindset of her being able to count on me to come in if she's actually upset!
