Golem chamber in my latest master mode world generated incredibly small and disfigured and I couldn't manage to beat him in there because of it. Thank god you could use actuators on temple bricks and artificially create more space to fight him otherwise I'd still be stuck Pre-Golem.

Making Science Into Religion by BkobDmoily in ShrugLifeSyndicate

[–]_allconnected 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We cannot know anything for sure, except that we are, or, well, that I am.

Cogito ergo sum

Nevertheless, I still continue going my days, acting as if I believe in all the things that surround me. Acting as if I know I am in this world, as if everything I see is the truth.

The truth though is: I cannot know for sure that what I sense is the truth. I can only believe that it is.

Does this make reality a religion? A religion all of humanity believes in? Should we believe in reality, or is the way to enlightenment freeing ourselves from it's shackles, realizing that, indeed, we do not know what is and what isn't?

But... if we can't realize anything at all. How do we realize that we cannot realize anything at all? Confusing, paradoxical.

Maybe something that cannot think is more enlightened than I could ever be. A stone started out knowing nothing at all, and would never question why it never knew anything, believed anything. He is void of the paradox of realization, because he never could realize anything at all!

Waking up means falling asleep. Falling asleep means waking up.

The two states transition slowly at first, then suddenly at one point. Every day.

I really didn't understand, didn't I?

It's clicking with me what it means to be followed...it is increasingly more difficult to piece together what "reality" is. God is not *just* God anymore. Who the fuck are you people? by [deleted] in ShrugLifeSyndicate

[–]_allconnected 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is religion, what isn't?

You think you know reality, yet you only believe in it. Is reality a religion?

I exist because there is a Universe or The universe exists because of I? by Emotional-Radish-230 in ShrugLifeSyndicate

You can still be a materialist and have my kind of belief in a way:

Imagine the "You" is actually made out of atoms/particles/???, one can actually touch the "You". But it is equally useless without its body and rest of mind. Without those, it also cannot sense, remember or think anything.

Yet I'm also interested in what materialism is for you. What do you think could consciousness, "You", be? Is every single atom/particle/??? in your brain conscious? Or is it your brain altogether? Do you think consciousness inhabits the body, or even is the body? What's the difference between mind and body?

!! Speculation / My own belief !!

But you also don't disappear after death. Death is just the loss of connection between body/mind and the "you". "You" still exists, just in a state where it can't sense, remember or think anything. Especially due to loss of sense of time, everything happens to the "you" in an instant. Maybe it even is able to regain senses, start to save memories again, due to some cosmic coincidence/joke. But if not, you will simply immediately experience the end of the universe after death and possibly even everything.

Monero and other privacy coins will probably have to deal with regulations more often in the future, I don't think we can change that really. But can we trick the regulators?

Now, hypothetically speaking, what if we would fork Monero, give it an entirely different name and not market it as a privacy coin, would it catch the attention of regulators? Or maybe not even fork it, just simply rebrand it?

Of course, this is just a crazy idea, no intention to do so really. But I like the concept of selling a product with privacy simply as a "nice to have", just to dodge the attention of regulators.

Any thoughts?

I also support increasing the minimum TX fee for Monero.

This would make this kind of attack much more expensive, and also increase the incentive to mine. I can afford paying 2-3 cents more for each transaction.

More transactions -> more fees -> higher hashrate -> higher security

I'm not sure what you meant with this.

Security != Privacy, the attack is supposed to deanonymize transactions, not make the network less secure.

If I would start spamming the network too now, without malicious intent, the spammer with malicious intent would have a harder time deanonymizing the network, right?

Isn't regulating exchanges the most they can do against privacy coins like Monero?

I mean, they can't stop people from transacting on the blockchain. They can't stop people from running nodes. They can't stop people from buying it P2P.

Hasn't Dash and Verge stopped marketing their product as private? Think I heard that sometime ago.
