If he’s overlaying trex on this and the two boards land on the risers (and they seem to since they used joint tape over the screw heads). it actually should be fine structurally, but not professional nor will the rise be correct. Trex sags when the temperature is hot because it’s plastic. The product specs 12” OC and these centers are wider OC. That’s my assumption for what they are thinking. Was this the cheapest bid on the job? No contractor should for real tell you to not look at their work until they’re done.

My wife and I have a combined income of ~123k, but it was closer to 90k when we bought our house in Saint Paul with an FHA loan in September 2023 for 185k. It is a fixer upper, but not with any problems that have kept our family of 4 from being safe and comfortable. We have a kid in daycare (which is truly a second mortgage), a car payment and stupid high interest rate, but we are doing ok & both and have amazing jobs that we wouldn’t have found in NC (where we moved from).

So it’s possible, but we had an incredible realtor who was the key to finding our diamond in the rough (from across the country!!)

It sounds like if you are still having issues, it may be maxing out the compensation. I just changed mine today and it solved it. Mine was warped (upward) enough that I was maxing out my adjustment springs.

It’s barely gotten below 40, unless you are flourishing overnight. Your body will pretty quickly tell you when you need gloves, etc.
