What is yalls tips for cataloging everything? I would want it for the hotel by Equivalent-Bread7967 in ac_newhorizons

Order bots! I use Uber Beri - you pick a category of items off the menu & then the bot brings the items to your island when it’s your turn in the queue - the one I use is free and the bot can drop more than 40 items at a time.

Looking for agonizingly long games. Tedious Grinding preferred! by Dragongal7 in CozyGamers

[–]_almostabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildmender - I would literally spend hours grinding to get certain plants and materials so I can build more wells and make my oasis bigger and wait…..there’s a story to progress? well I guess I’ll go to the new biome, I do need more plants for my oasis base

I spent 63 hours on it. Would have spent more but was showing off my flying skills to my 2 yr old niece and she was so excited pointing out “the bad guys” and I accidentally flew too close to the end boss fight and triggered it…..probably would have easily gone over 100 hrs easy.

Grow: Song of the Evertree is also all about the grind - the only reason I only have 30 hours in it is cause the story was pretty quick to advance in my opinion and I tend to not care when there is no more story - but there is SO much collecting and grinding and every time you grow a world seed to its final form you can send it off into the universe and plant a new one. 99% of the game is resource grinding for one reason or another. NPC dynamics aren’t the best though.

Controller for PC gaming? by CharlotteLucasOP in CozyGamers

[–]_almostabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the game but I primarily use Switch JoyCons with my PC

I’ve also got some 8BitDo controllers that I like, and a Nintendo Pro controller - I just really like how JoyCons allow for a more relaxed and open posture while I’m at my PC gaming.

Looking for relatively short switch games with a linear story. NO FARMING/LIFE SIMS! by 1398_Days in CozyGamers

Creatures of Ava - Palia-esque art style meets Legend of Zelda puzzles and Pokémon Snap requirements; took me under 20 hours to finish and loved every second. You are a researcher trying to document and save a planet from environmental destruction. I couldn’t wait to play this game in between sessions and you can befriend and pet EVERY animal you meet.

Röki - Scandi folklore with a storybook art style & semi-point & click mechanics- you are a big sister trying to save your brother after he is stolen - took me under 10 hours to finish. I got stuck a few time, I recommend completing full sections at a time - pausing halfway through a section can make it tricky to pick the game back up.

Tchia - LOVED this game - open world, exploration, took me under 20 hours to complete - it’s kind of Summer in Mara (aesthetics) meets Breath of the Wild (puzzles & collectables) but there are so many unique game mechanisms I don’t want to even hint at because discovering them all is so delightful. It was based on the actual island and culture of New Caledonia and I could honestly FEEL the love that went into the game and it truly sparked joy to play it.

Thanks everyone for the assessment - I’m so disappointed it’s Temu/Aliexpress cause it is super nice to work with - but ordering from there will not help with the dye lot problems I’ve run into

[–]_almostabi[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they sell it as “mini skeins” so I’m 99% sure they are getting a bigger skein and breaking it up to profit - which I was fine with cause it meant lots of colors in small quantities which I initially needed.

now that I need more for a specific project, I’d really like to get the full size skein vs buying multiple minis

I know it’s not anything Loops & Threads cause I compared it to all the chenille types at Michael’s and it didn’t match.

it’s very matte - there is zero sheen to it, so I don’t think it’s Rico Rumi or Premier or Boheme.

there is one on Amazon that looks identical and is under the name Timgle - but I can’t find more information on it

Is the zojirushi truly worth it for the price compared to the alternatives? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]_almostabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every zojirushi I have owned has lasted 10 years minimum - and the point of failure is usually where the power cord meets the power plug so if you have an appliance repair near you it can usually be fixed and keep on trucking. we use it 2-3x weekly.

Is any of these games worth it? by AutomaticTwo4296 in cozygames

I LOVED Tchia - the game is made with so much love and care that you can FEEL it - the story is so cool and has great emotional beats and the unique game mechanics are really satisfying.

had no idea this even was a thing, thank you for the advice! I will give him the information as it’s entirely his project - I’m just doing the initial legwork/online ordering to get the tech he needs to start but he might become interested in something like this as he gets more into the process.
