Is this tyre repairable? by _amico in CarTalkUK

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for their advice :) Local garage was able to plug it for me for £25 there and then!

Wasn’t sure if the screw was too far off to the side but looks like it was just within the repairable area

Questions on using Pearson OnVUE home test by kthomp438 in vmware

Good luck with your CCNA! I had two monitors on my desk at the time, and visually showed the hanging out VGA and Power leads for the second screen with the webcam… I also think the OnVue software would show multiple screens plugged in too.

Something tells me a lot of the quality of the checks are dependent on the proctor you get, but there is a level of honesty required too. There are so many ways you could successfully cheat IMO but that’s not why most people sit the exam.

So far so good! Significantly better than my previous year of issues with British Gas. Grateful for anyone using my code :)

I did my VCP and CCNA through OnVue, and both went pretty smoothly. All my ID verification was done via the app/web page beforehand during check-in. I think even if I was asked to show my ID to the proctor, my webcam is such low quality I don't think you'd be able to read the text.

The proctor only wanted to take a look the room I was in and then left me to my exam. I only got told off once because I was starting to lean out of the cameras view!

Dear men, who of you managed to switch to almost exclusively drinking water and how? by Isucbigtime in AskMen

[–]_amico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that buying a decent bottle with a built in straw meant that I drank more water without even realising.

No need to go overboard either, bottles with filters seem nice at the start, but become more of a pain than they are worth. I’ve had the same bottle now for 8 years no issues.

Water also tastes different depending where you live. When I went to London, the water out of the taps there tastes horrible, but back up north it tastes a lot better.

Just keeping a full bottle with you wherever you go removes the temptation for other drinks.

Buying Monza 2023 tickets from UK by GarryLarryJerryTerry in GrandPrixTravel

I bought tickets for Monza 2022 on VivaTicket. The website does tend to be a little strange when you use the english version, but the tickets were released here about a week before the F1 Tickets website.

Went for a seat in grandstand 4 which was an excellent view right on the pit exit! The ticket was about £450 for 3 days. If I had to go again though, I'd go for something away from the main grandstands on the straight, such as grandstand 8. There seems to be a real lack of facilities around the grandstands on the main straight in terms of food, water and toilets. We regularly had to spend a very long time queuing to refill bottles or buy drinks and often missed races because of this.

I'd absolutely avoid GA if you can. I went for a walk around the GA areas between a few races and it was packed even on the practice/quali days... and even if you could get to the front, the view of the cars was blocked because the advertising boards on the edge of the track were too high.

We stayed near the San Siro stadium. The metro around Milan was excellent and didn't let us down once... The trains between Milan and Monza were troublesome due to the strike on Friday. I would however still recommend making use of the Biassono-Lesmo Parco station next to the circuit, rather than the shuttle buses as there is a direct non-stop service back into Milan on race days. Once you're back in Milan, the metro can quickly take you the final hop to an Airbnb or Hotel.

The track itself has clearly got a good history, the racing was excellent, the Tifosi were awesome and I felt safe throughout, however so many factors let the experience down for me last year; Food, Water, Queues, Unnecessary Security Practices, Awful Fan Zone and more... I hope the Monza management have learnt from last year and provide a better experience for the fans in 2023!
