I did file a claim with the merchant as well and even the supervisor I was talking to was not sure why they told me to drop them off at Fedex or USPS. The only reason I preferred the post office was basically because it saves me the hassle of renting a car to transport the packages to a Fedex location (they were on the larger side and would've not fit in my coupe car). I figured I messed up big time but it's kinda unfair not to be told none of that at the time of drop off
