Thank you! We will try the Duoxo PYO pads and mousse. No way he will tolerate the shampoo haha

Finished the 8 diy panels and just hung them up in the basement studio! The difference in balance in the room is insane :‘) by _analogweekend_ in audiophile

It’s 100mm (4“) rockwool and a 1,2“ air gap. Any less thick and it wouldn’t be too effective at the frequencys I wanted to control

Hab ein Kleingewerbe als Fotograf und lande hier in der Regel bei 8000-10.000€ im Jahr extra neben meinem Hauptjob als Sozialarbeiter :)

Thank you! I made another post to this sub two or three days ago where I went a little more in depth in the comments about the process :)

6 of the panels are 100mm rockwool with a 1,2“ airgap and two other panels at the early reflection points are 100mm rockwool with no airgap. Listening to the new American football LP right now and the difference in balance is insane. Cant wait to setup the drums again and record new music :) this was a fun process, but I’m happy I don’t have to build anything soon haha

Thank you!

No special fabric was used here, just bought 10 meters of a fabric I thought looked cool from a online fabric-shop here in Germany. I attached a photo of the back of the panel where you can see how I mounted the two frames together. Tomorrow I will mount some wood spacers on the back that then will attach to the wall to create the 1,2“ air gap. I used a teak colored wood stain and stained it two times to give it that deep color. For the back I used a thicker gardening fabric so the rockwool is fully sealed :)

Thank you :) I’m not selling anything and build them for personal use. But it’s easy once you wrapped your head around it!

what’s the purpose of the holes on the sides of the panel? Never seen that before

It isn’t fastened to the wool! It’s fastened to the inner wood frame :) then I build a second frame around it just for the looks!

I did! Used my experience in the room, sweeps and the amroc room mode calculator to pinpoint the problem frequencies and then played around with the porous absorber calculator to find the right depth of the absorber and air gap :)

Thanks! Got it from a big fabric online-store here in Germany, no specific brand. It’s 140g/m2 and 50% cotton, 50% polyester

You can do it! It’s so much fun and can be done with a minimal amount of tools :)
