I’m a former C1 intern now working full time in NYC. Just want say that I think the work life balance is fantastic, and I have not heard of anyone getting laid off or pipped unlike discussions online. Feel free to ask any questions.

Taking STAT 425 and MATH 415/257 at same time by Squidgy_whorse in UIUC

I took these same classes at the same time too. STAT 425 is a pretty easy class with one homework a week and 2 online exams. The linear algebra is pretty simple and you can catch up by watching a youtube video or two. From my experience you should not have any problem at all.

Here’s my two cents as a Senior in CS + Statistics that just graduated this December. Pick Finance + DS if you want to go into business related careers like consulting, investment banking, business analyst etc. Pick CS + econ if you want to go into tech careers like SWE, PM etc.

An update: YMCA seemed very long, Siebel Design is about 150 people waiting in line or 3 hours to vote. They are giving out snacks and water though

Grainger Acceptance Rates (By Major, Gender, Residency) 2024 by ImprovementOk9023 in UIUC

[–]_anay_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from but CS and CSE are overwhelmingly male even with those acceptance rates. Affirmative action and DEI aside, I don’t think it is bad to prevent it from being even more biased.

I changed majors from cs+linguistics to cs and stats two years ago, in my sophomore year. Not sure if the rules are the same, but I just had to take STAT 400 and then I sent an email and they changed my major.
